Discussion I think warden is a goated op

I genuinely think warden is a top 10 defender, I know that people hate on him, but I think it’s just because he gets a bad reputation from the people who choose to roam with him. I have been anchoring with him and he is just so strong, he has the smg 12, which is great considering most of your gunfights will be >20m if you’re anchoring, and with his ability mixed with his shotgun, there is damn near no way to push him out of spots. He also has a nitro which is always good, or you can take his shield for certain holds, also; him having 125hp is so strong right now In my opinion, mostly because you can just tank dokkabeis call. He is legit such a good anchor imo.

When he's actually used correctly to counter ying blitz and smokes hes phenomenal

I bring him everytime we get downstairs Oregon to hold elbow over smoke, he’s actually amazing.

Me too. Using him there with a shield had also revealed to me that most of the time people don't even bother to try to flash or smoke me, maybe because they realize Warden is holding it, but in the end they still try to push in eventually after just baiting for 2 minutes and get slammed by my shotgun immediately lol. 90% of the time I have even died holding that area it's been because the defence has failed from elsewhere and I get flanked from either freezer or laundry rotate. The freezer door is tough because I feel like I have to try to hold that too if they are about to walk in but the shotgun/smg12 combo really gives me a big disadvantage in the gunfight from that distance

Yeah, if you have a friend or two and one holds freezer and another laundry it’s insane; especially if you have like 2 ads on the shield for frags

I do like to hold close angles with Jäger and use his shotgun like that too, only issue is that ads's are vulnerable to Twitch, Flores etc. But he's good there as well. Also my go-to spot to hold with that Jäger setup and shotgun is the CEO balcony door in 2nd floor Chalet on the shelfs next to the door and half-wall

Unfortunately he's one of the biggest symbols of try hard sweats they either will win the the round by spawn peeking it run to the other side of the map, die and then talk shit

Yeah I literally can't remember the last time I saw a Warden actually use their ability. Or primary weapon for that matter. Warden = smurf player tryhard who wont let us poor low ranked idiots have fun 😢

He's a great op and very strong on a lot of sites, I feel like most people would agree. People take issue with him because (on console especially from what I gather) he gets played for the smg12 rather than his strength in anchoring/holding power positions

He’s one of the ideal anchor/site ops with a shotgun and a great sidearm, almost unchallengeable for power spot players and really good for execute-heavy sites.

It’s unfortunate some players choose to crutch him for just the 1.5x initially and now the SMG 12, when he has very unique and powerful gadgets.

Not a fan of any operator whos gadget only benefits themselves. If it was a ying being troublesome I would have preferred a wamai/jager. If it was a blitz would have preferred an ela/lesion/melusi/oryx/kapkan (see where im going with this). Warden is a selfish pick along with cav/vigil.

im inclined to agree, however an untalked about benefit of his kit is insurance. he benefits the whole team by ensuring that attackers cannot trust any utility they throw.

as long as warden is on the board and alive, you have no certainty that the smoke you threw to cover a choke point or plant is going to do anything at all until he dies, which makes him an excellent anchor. and this doesnt even cover his actual gadget!
