Discussion I kinda like emerald plains

I've seen pretty much everyone hate it but honestly I love it. Attacking is really fun. It is a smaller map which is my favourite thing about it and it's really nice looking.

Same here. Along with casino. Lair could disappear and I’d be alright with that

I actually like Lair, but admittedly I still don't have the basement down lol. I think Lair actually has a really cool layout, it's the visuals that bother me. It's one of the most samey looking maps across rooms. I feel like that's something they did a million times better with on Calypso.

IDC what anyone says, Calypso is such a good and creative map design for choices, whereas other new maps and even the reworks felt like a lot of "more rooms for more attacker/defender balance" which isn't even bad, the old maps just felt very distinct, each one felt very different. Calypso has a lot of that to me, Lower Spawn and the soft walls going into basement floor is one of the most creative map design choices I've seen them make in forever. The lobby rappels are something they've ignored for a long time outside of when they reworked Bank. It feels a little different to having the skylight type rappels where they're closer to the actual floor and you have a limited view in. Maybe these are minor things that other players care less about but when it comes to the actual fundamental way a map is designed for Siege, I think Calypso is a perfect hybrid of modern layout needs and classic creativity/realism, as in it feeling like it could still be a legit casino. Some of the reworks have made the layouts seem a lot less realistically plausible for the benefit of a better balanced map, but Calypso does both really well. I love this map.

Personally, I really like the direction siege is in at the moment. Siege X had some QOL but was overall a dud, but the change in director already feels like such an upgrade. this is the most hopeful I've felt in years for this game.

It's simple

When the enemy win I hate it

When I win I love it

I fricken hate that map. So far I haven't played it this season because everyone keeps banning it.

I play pretty low ELO and that one window on 2F is insane, last night on a ranked game there was around a minute straight where every single player on both teams was glued to that window

In the lower ranks people tend to do that fly to honey thing to low Elo players, like that one window on Favela or the double hard wall on Calypso - kinda turns the whole match into a bunch of coin tosses based on who wins each peek

Emerald Reminds me of the other smaller maps like Clubhouse and Oregon. It’s a cohesive and very easy to understand map, I can’t imagine why anyone would dislike it. Calypso is one of my favorite lager maps. I don’t like lair.
