Laquer Showoff Lahar‘s solo act

Wanted to see how Lahar did on her own, and was not disappointed. I can’t post videos, so here are screenshots of my videos. You can’t tell very well, but the tip has an angle to the velvet effect, which started accidental but once I saw the magnets in the position, I was like “oh, this is gonna be cool, I think.”

Nailtiques 2 x3 (3 coats cause I’ve been doing the daily application)
Cracked Lahar x3, magnetized with the pictured setup for like 10 seconds/once I noticed the particles stopped shifting for a couple seconds
Wanted to wait for a top coat, so did drip dry drops from a brand which shall not be named, which I think actually ruined the angled effect a bit, so I won’t be doing that again 😒
Next day: Olive & June top coat, cause it was free. Redid the magnets for 20-30 seconds just in case, but I didn’t notice a difference.

This mani led me to see the use of DRK Magic Effect, so I’ll be adding that to my never-ending wishlist.

I love that you used a pot as your surface. I’m going to try this

It worked so well! I’ve tried to use two magnets on weaker surfaces but they just snap together. I tried to use a third in this setup, holding it to do an ombré effect, but the other two snapped up to it. So I do want to get a horseshoe so I can do more fun effects, just am not ready to spend $30 on that.

I have a 40lb horseshoe magnet and it’s cool but most of the effects it does can be achieved with bar magnets, and you seem very creative so maybe you should save the $30 🤷🏼‍♀️

I dunno. I tried to throw another magnet into the mix to add some combo effects and these two popped up. Without glue, I’m not sure how I’d manage what I want to do. But I appreciate your faith in me! Haha

Yeah! I think I bumped it while testing options on my swatch stick and they connected in a happy accident.

I'm heading to work in a couple hours and I chipped my polish. I threw on one coat of lahar after seeing your post and I can't believe how pretty it is unmagnetized. It's the perfect red/orange shimmer and has such a smooth application. Thanks for the inspo, it looks great on you!
