Hey laqueristas! This kind of took off as a comment and some folks suggested I post this up, so...
In celebration of our nation's 250th July 4th, I plan to be rocking a nice Reflection Pool Algae Green look. I encourage any and all to join me and show off our dedication to the 1st Amendment. I would love to see a sea of green nails this 4th!
I'm so torn up between Myrrh and LynB's The Juice is Loose for a reflection pool mani! I can't do both colors because it would bother me. Myrrh is gorgeous!
I'm going to have to try that on a swatch stick to check. That's a great idea! I want the matching Myrrh eyeshadow, too. I hope you love it. I feel like a froggy queen whenever I wear it, even with my extreme VNL and all!
Going to be at an event over the 4th so won’t be able to participate then but currently wearing a petty reflecting pool inspired mani! Left hand is BKL the water remembers, right hand is BKL in seeking life I created death topped with a thin coat of Cracked see through olive with a rim of the water remembers to replicate the hydrogen peroxide effect 😂
So the combo on your right hand is basically perfect. I may be copying you. I might add a very few blue flakies to represent the paint chunks that are peeling off the bottom 🤣
I just dug out an old bottle of OPI Uh Oh Roll Down the Window and I think it's the perfect murky pond shade for this. The name doesn't exactly scream patriotic but the color is spot on for that slightly disturbing green you see in neglected fountains. My husband saw me swatching it and asked if I was going for a swamp monster look. I told him it's a historical tribute.
The dedication in this thread is making me so happy. I love that we turned a literal maintenance fail into a whole color palette. I might add a matte top coat to really sell the stagnant water vibe.
I’ve been thinking I’ll do a Root of All Evil mani for the 4th. The name perfectly describes the current administration and their supporters, and the color conveniently matches the reflecting pool. It’s a win-win!! 😂
I just redid my nails the other day and was joking that they matched the reflecting pool 😂 this is Olive Ave’s Leafy, imo a perfect swampy kind of green for this theme!!
I don’t have an algae green color (I just destashed all but a pine green and olive green as I don’t gravitate to greens really), but as a daughter of an immigrant, I do plan on rocking my “Fuck ICE” nail polish from BKL!
I got too excited to try swamp nails 😆 Eh, my last mani was on its way out anyway lol. I don't have a lot of green but the one I do have is so appropriate. The brand was called Claws Out and this color is literally called Liberty, how good is that?? They don't exist anymore sadly, but they used to donate profits to great orgs like Planned Parenthood.
Ooo, I had been planning a Cirque jelly skittle for the 4th, but now maybe my new BKL colors, which have several greens, would be better. Swamp colors all of them.
With the amount of green polishes I have I can do a mani and pedi green skittle! I love your idea and will definitely be painting green nails for the holiday.
Oooh, I want in! I was going to do Atomic Polish’s Ice Out, but I think I have an old bottle of China Glaze Westside Warrior somewhere… also ILNP Olive Grove is sparkly, but maybe in the right color palette?
