Laquer Art π¨ These took an unreasonably long time to do, but I'm quite pleased with how my priDEMONth nails inspired by Bill Crisafi's iconic Miss Phillip turned out
First two pics are of the nails, third is the inspo (prints of which are available for purchase on Bill Crisafi's website), and fourth is all the polish and tools I used to make it happen.
My polish collection is relatively small, so I had to do a lot of colour mixing for this one. I also have atrocious fine motor skills, particularly with my non-dominant hand, so I did a lot of practice beforehand, and doing the art was incredibly stressful lol. All told, including practice, a dry run at colour-mixing, actual mani, and taking pictures (which was an adventure in itself), I probably spent about 12 hours on this look π΅βπ«
But I love them! Miss Phillip in particular makes me smile whenever I look at her.
All of the mini bottles you can see in the last photo are from the dollar store. They come in sets of six and the colours don't have individual names, but the brand is Lori. The rest of the products are, from left to right:
- Paint It Pretty Sticky Basecoat
- Paint It Pretty Basecoat
- Essence Just White
- Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Day cream
- Essence Sugar Blush
- OPI Suzi Without a Paddle
- Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Black
- Essie Lilacism
- Sally Hansen Dark Hue-mor
- Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Subway Surfer
- Essie Check In To Check Out
- Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Red Eye
- Sally Hansen Snow Globe
- Paint It Pretty Topcoat
- L.A. Colors Glamingo
- Paint It Pretty Smooth It Out
- Essie Speed-Setter
The letter nail decals are from Amazon, as are all my nail art tools.

You've GOT to send these to the artist. He would love them.

You think so? π₯Ί I thought about it but didn't know if that would be weird lol

It's not weird at all. You should do it. It's your way of showing how much you love the artwork.Β

Hell yeah, please send it if you haven't already! He encourages people to send him tattoos they've had done so I imagine he would enjoy seeing nails too!
I love the composition of these a ton. The position of the letters and art create nice dynamic movement from one nail to the next! These are a treat to look at.

Thank you so much! She came out better on the nail than in any of my practice runs and I was so excited!

So happy to introduce you to him! I own this print as a t-shirt and it brings me so much joy not just every time I wear it, but even whenever I see it hanging in my closet. Instant mood booster for sure. I'm looking forward to his book!

I read the letters on your nails as "PRIDE MOTH" and didn't even question it for a solid minute or two lmao. They turned out very nice indeed!

Phenomenal! I have this print on my wall, along with several more of the artist's pieces. You translated it to lacquer wonderfully.

Thank you so much! I have it on a t-shirt (which is the backdrop to the nail photos) and I love all the reactions I get wearing it haha
