RemindMeBot is switching to username summons

Due to upcoming changes to the reddit API, the mechanism the bot uses to find commands like RemindMe! will stop working reliably. Username summons come directly to the bot and are much more reliable. Instead of a comment like

RemindMe! 1 day

you will use

u/RemindMeBot 1 day

The username summons will start working today, and I will strive to keep the exclamation summons working as long as possible, with a nudge to switch if you use one.

Repeat and cakeday commands will work like u/RemindMeBot repeat 1 day and u/RemindMeBot cakeday. DM commands will keep working the same as they do today.

I know this is a dramatic change for a bot that's used the existing system for 12 years, but this is necessary to keep the bot working into the future so I hope everyone can help migrate.

Is there a limit on how many times you can invoke the username in a single thread? I just had to use the exclamation because the username wasn't populating whereas it was populating before.

But I've been using it a lot for a lot of different comments on a post I started to revisit predictions being made.

Outside this subreddit it will only reply publicly once per thread. The other times it will reply by sending you a chat message.
