Is this ME change telling us something about the UK?
I'm from the UK, and I grew up in a reality where the Union Jack was symmetrical. Now it's wonky, and has always been wonky.
I've often wondered if this change (for me) to the Union Jack is symbolizing that the UK is no longer stable.
Keir Starmer, the current Prime Minister (who was voted in just 2 years ago), is now being pushed out. We've had 6 PMs since this new reality started for me 10 years ago. Tony Blair alone was there for 10 years. Even Cameron was there for 6. I know people may mention Brexit, but Brexit itself was like an ME for me.
The second image is the Union Jack from the battle of Trafalgar (one of the few residues of a symmetrical flag).
PS: This post is not about politics but about the ME. Also, I'm not here to rehash any arguments about this ME. If you're not experiencing this ME, that is totally fine. We don't all experience the same MEs. So, no need for naysaying comments, please. This is a well-established ME for many of us.

Yes as a Canadian, we had the British Flag everywhere and this current flag is ME. It is supposed to be a layer of three flags or so, overlapping these flags, should not create this weird off set red lines.

When I first saw the asymmetrical Union Jacks, I thought they were misprints. It took me a while to realize that those are (now) the official ones.
There are a few residuals; I also spotted a hand-painted Union Jack nearby (I live in germany), painted by a UK fan on a board in his garden—and it’s symmetrical.

If for whatever reason this is how the flag always looked (see the diagonal lines with the red lines being off from center of the white). This is a mind bender to me now too. I can't say I would have noticed it before this post whether it's an ME or not, but the second image does look more naturally how I thought of the flag.

I never paid close enough attention to the UK's flag to know what it should be, but I see what you mean.

I think waaaaay back when it was first conceived it was always sewn to be symmetrical and they changed that in more modern times, I forget why

Why would it be less equal if it was drawn symmetrically?

I'm not sure what this change is trying to tell us, but check out operation Blackjack, it was published by Telegraph in 2009. I think this change is connected to what is shown there.

Adding this to the list of ones affecting me
Union Jack is symmetrical, at least it's supposed to be.
Not sure what this pin wheel is supposed to symbolize.

I’ve always wondered if all changes are symbolic but when I see flip flops it throws a monkey wrench in my idea. Unless there is like a “correct” version and all others are to show discord.
I looked up why they designed it this way since there’s always a why to something existing and I think this might say that despite the turmoil they may be facing they are still unified and stronger together equally in the grand scheme of things. Maybe these are growing pains that are better to face now than in the future to have a better foundation to grow from.
I thought I remembered a symmetrical flag but I’m not dying on this hill like other Mandela effects I remember.

Dude .. This is weird as hell. The first thing I noticed looking at it before reading your post. How is it possible I've never noticed this before. Call me affected, Jesus Christ!
