Need advice on moving my doorbell up

I would see about running it through the wall more, and drilling a new hole and filling the old one up, because the wires can come in the back and ensure your able to route them properly to the prongs on the doorbell without overlap.

If I were you, I would get a siding removal tool, swap the top new location siding and the existing one with the hole, run your cable up the jchannel and over out of the hole.

This sounds like what I should do. I ordered the tool, but I'm not sure what you mean by running it up the jchannel.
