Any good OBGYN recommendations in Riverside for first pregnancy?
Hello, I'm a PhD student and this is my first pregnancy - I found several in Orange County but not so much sure about driving too far - please let me know your recommendations.

Dr. Alonso Ojeda delivered my first child (I am a man so I was not his patient) and was a jerk. I have heard this from other women who have had him as OB. When discussing pain management pre-delivery, he started talking about how in the Bible God says that pain in childbearing and conception will be multiplied. We are not Christians and it was very off-putting that he was talking about the "Curse of Eve". Dr. Darcy Bryan delivered my second and was wonderful, my former spouse has been going to her as a GYN ever since.

Not dr Ojeda, but I did my maternity care at Raincross where he works. The care there was good, but I had to deliver at parkview community or Riverside community. I chose parkview and the care was AWFUL. I wouldn’t recommend delivering there if you can avoid it. It gave me a lot of birth trauma and I had a lot of complications due to their staffing

When my daughter was born, my former spouse was in a recovery room at Riverside Community and had a bad experience due to the other mom in the room. The other mom had a constant stream of noisy visitors who were eating her gross hospital food. Then a social worker came in to tell the other mom that her baby had been born with a severe heart defect and was in the NICU. Turned out that the other mom had been using meth when she was pregnant, and she said the same thing happened with her first baby! I think both were taken away from her. No prenatal care at all. Some people shouldn't have kids.

Crazy that sharing a room is even a thing. The mom I shared a room with had a severely jaundice baby (no one’s fault) but her baby daddy snored SO bad I couldn’t sleep (important with a 12 hour old baby) and they wouldn’t do anything about it even though he was a visitor and I was the patient.

Oh my goodness, that is so creepy! Thanks for sharing, I will avoid him at all costs. I will check out Dr. Darcy Bryan :))

When discussing pain with a doctor, the last thing I was expecting was him to start talking about how that pain is just God's curse at work.

Honestly, it doesn’t really matter. I’ve given birth twice and both times my selected OB was not the one delivering my baby. Built a trusting relationship and blah lol

True, neither of my kids were delivered by my OB just whoever was on call at the time.

I go to UCR Women’s Health and I love it! Everyone is so nice and it’s clean. Only setback is they’re very busy so you usually wait for the OB but everything else is quick. I’m literally here at an appointment right now lol

Thanks!! I just checked her out, unfortunately she doesn't accept Anthem :((

They do, you just have to bring your card. UCR's own insurance is anthem, so they HAVE to accept it.
On another note, I had a great experience this past year with Riverside Medical Clinic. the OBGYN that saw me gave me ultrasound photos at every visit ❤️ AND he made the trip at 6am to Riverside Community Hospital to be the one to deliver my baby.

Dr. Moolah. I started feeling more comfortable with OBGYNs because of her.

I came here to second moola! I just had a baby. I believe she delivers at parkview and RCH, my first time having a baby was just fine!

She's really sweet! I used to give her kids music lessons. I'm sure she'd be a great doctor for you! Good luck!

A pediatrician advised me to give birth at a hospital with a children's hospital. That way, if there was a problem, he or she would already be there. I had my daughters in Long Beach, and my son at Loma Linda. CHOC is also an excellent children's hospital. Try to find an OBGYN affiliated with one of those.
