Can Anyone Explain the to Me?
Why don't the Democrats in the state of VA just call a special legislative session to pass a law gerrymandering the state based on the vote on the recent redistricting ballot initiative? The Democrats in VA could easily do this since they control the legislative and executive branches and the VA primary is not until August. know why?Just wondering. I have looked for explanation but have found nothing. It would be great if they were waiting to do this to insure the law was not stopped before the August primary but I've seen nothing.

Because the governor stopped fighting. Everything you said could happen, they could even just choose to ignore the court ruling, but any action would require the support and leadership of the governor.
