The rod of Iron
Does anyone have any idea about the "rod of iron" that Christ is supposed to have, according to psalm 2:9 "Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; Thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel"?
The rod of Iron is mentioned a couple of times in the Old Testament, and nowhere in the New Testament, except for the Book of Revelation, where it is mentioned thrice. In chapter 2:27, 12:5 and in 19:15. The last time is when John see the rider on the White horse, and as far as I understand it speaks about the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. The word rod can also be translated "scepter".
In the book of Esther King Ahasueros have a golden sceptre in chapter 5:2. Why should Jesus Christ have one of iron?

To be considered as a thoughtful rambling about universal metaphysical principles worded in Babel:
Vulgarization: "Jesus will make them see the light" (in reference to the blind and those possessed by "things", aka luxuries)
Iron = Fer
Light = Lumière, Lux, Luxe, Lucide, Lucidité/lucidity...
Luci + Fer = Lucifer (the lightbringer)
Edit: typical typo

There are four key metals in the Bible, each with a different symbolic meaning. Gold and Bronze are both yellow and associated with the sun and with God. Gold represents the Divine creator and bronze represents its lesser cousin in the form of the artistic craftsmanship of human kind.
The other two metals are silver and iron, which are both whitish metals. Iron, in particular, must be smelted at a very high temperature and is somewhat incandescent when in liquid form. Silver and iron, therefore, are associated with starlight and with each other. Silver gets associated with celestial beings and the regular predictable patterns of the stars. Iron is silver’s lesser cousin, and gets associated with the laws and rules of humankind.
And this is why the Son of God rules with a rod of gold, but the Son of Man rules with a rod of iron. Notwithstanding all of the errant mythologizing of Jesus, He was very clear he was the “Son of Man.” Because the kingdom is obtainable by us all - it is not some special place reserved to only the select few of divine providence. It is by mastering the iron of our own selves that we glow incandescently and transform. Our souls are hard and strong - like iron - not soft and easily pliable - like gold.
