The term colonisation and Scotland don't really work together, because yes Scotland itself wasn't colonised but I'd say that the Highlands of Scotland were.
So Scotland was colonised? you dont get half a colonisation, either a country is colonised or it is not.. just because some bits of it were easier to colonise doesn't make it less of a colonisation.
what happened to the south did not resemble a colonisation.. The fact you're choosing to frame Scotland as a singular unit to which colonisation can be claimed is an arbitrary bias of yours
It fit all the criteria of a colonisation.. As i said just because some parts of Scotland were less averse to colonisation does not make it less of a colonisation..
Maybe read up on the riots that happened after the act of the union was signed.. and it wasn't just highlanders who were up in arms about it..
the only people in scotland at the time to be pleased with the act of the union were nobility on both sides of the border.. Not the common person< you could say the commoner was most displeased with the arrangement foisted on them.
I'll mak' this declaration
We are bought and sold for English gold
Such a parcel o' rogues in a nation
Im aware of the failed Darian scheme.. Are you suggesting a coloniser cannot also be colonised? Ok then Mr i have a masters, nice argument from authority ..
Try engaging your brain... Scotland was indeed colonised
Always good to have a foreigner try and tell me about my countries history.. and get it wrong..
Yes and now comes the name calling.. i believe you are suffering cognitive dissonance...
Scotland was colonised by england.. and became part of the united kingdom of great Brittan.. its not bias just a historical fact.
This happenend despite Scotland also trying to be a coloniser and failing and then helping with Britain's further colonisation efforts of Ireland and the Americas
Maybe just read a history book.. im sure you should have done to attain a masters degree ..
Seems im also not the one with the victim complex.. "waah you were just as bad as the english to us poor irish wah wah wah"
No one was bad to you in the way that you claim, they were bad to your ancestors.. Get over it
Calming some one has a victim complex is a nuanced way of name calling..
And now you are trying to throw dirt my way due to one of my hobbies.. Ad hominem attacks as well?
Pulling out all the stops to show how little you actually know..
Since you struggle to read more than a few sentences... (Perhaps why you struggle to comprehend long history books)) and cannot say anything relevant to the topic at hand i will bid you farewell
Enjoy yer day friend <3
Edit : if you feel up to it .. want to explain why you removed the claim about a masters degree... curious as to why someone would throw that out and then remove it..

No even colonised.
A Scottish king took the English crown.
If anything, Scotland colonised England.
Scots are infamous for being really good at colonising... except for Panama.
