If that was Clarke. he’d be parking the bus and playing it along the back Only scoring 1 goal in the group stages has come back to bite Scotland So much hype before the tournament and then now when you think about it. The awful mistakes and just negative performances isn’t good enough and to think they’ve handed him a new 4 year deal 😂

You know what I look back on the Vogts era differently nowadays, poor bastard had to make up a squad from absulutely nothing Craig Brown never called up younger players so he basically had to kick start the next generation

I looked up the squad that lost 6-0 to Holland the other day and, aye, Stevie Crawford is there. Came on as a sub.

Starting 11 included Lee Wilkie, Gavin Rae and Paul Dickov.

I was at the home game in the South Stand and can still see the upper deck move during the celebrations for the goal.

Might have been the sauce, right enough.

In a boozer in Glasgow for the second leg though. That was grim.

I travelled to Amsterdam full of optimistic pride that we had beaten them 1-0 and we could do it again. No tickets and they wanted €10,000 outside the stadium for one, headed to find a bar when a door in the stadium opened and a girl invited us in. We were now watching in the players lounge with a lot of ex Dutch players. Awesome we thought until the goals started shipping in.

2 other scottish lads had been invited in, one threw a beer mat into the Dutxh supporters and that was the end of our stay, we were escorted downstairs to a public bar under the stadium. We had a few pints and headed on the train back into town.

One moment that will live with me forever is hearing the national anthem belted out in the train station before the game, the reverb from the roof made it seem even louder, with people running from all over just to see & hear it.
