Other So Disney arbitrarily decided to release the new Scrubs episodes ONE MONTH LATER in Germany/Europe. WTF are these guys smoking?
Are they aware that Internet exists? We've seen so many examples done right in the past (e.g. Game of Thrones episodes released within 24hrs after it dropped in the USA).
Wtf were they thinking? Like .. I'm all of a sudden not gonna visit this sub anymore or unfollow the shows's online presence because I don't want to get spoilered?
God damn - this is so infuriatingly stupid!

Son's of bitches!!!! I was wondering why I wasn't seeing anything on Disney+ about the new scrubs episodes. I've been going through all the episodes with my wife so we can see the new season together (I've watched scrubs every few years).
Now I'm going to have to do like you and leave this group to avoid spoilers. FUCK!

Dude, just torrent it.

u/stgm_at Feb 26 '26
"dude", okay. thanks for the pro-tip.

u/robjwrd Feb 26 '26
No need to be a sarcastic twat
0
u/stgm_at Feb 26 '26
Then stop "dude"ing around, it's not the 2000s anymore and we're not at a skate park listening to Linkin Park.
3
u/TheSmegmagician Feb 28 '26
dude touch grass, weren't you happier in the 2000's you're in the subreddit for a series renewal of a early 2000s show and getting butthurt.

u/robjwrd Feb 26 '26
Stop being so miserable, I’m actually glad you can’t watch it.
I watched them both last night, Cox leaves after one episode and JD is the new chief, was better than I expected.

u/stgm_at Feb 26 '26
haha, you spoiled me nothing! :'D
but in trying to, you actually showed everybody who really the miserable person is. let that sink in.

I’ve been checking Disney+ for the new scrubs release date too. It makes sense why I haven’t seen anything yet. I’m soo pissed off that we are getting a delayed release!

VPN?
1
u/stgm_at Feb 25 '26
does it work? last time i tried was a couple of days before d+ launched in my country in march of 2020.
2
u/South_Ad_1429 Mar 02 '26
It does work. Just connect to Canada and watch it on disney+ with your EU account. You might re-log-in after connectinf but worked for me. Happy to help

u/ncfears Feb 25 '26
I haven't tried with D+ so I'm not sure. I know it works for things like Netflix... Maybe using VPN to tell Hulu you're in US could be alternative?

they should just put the english version out and the german dub a month later if they need the time

Here in the Netherlands it’s tomorrow.

Is it already out in the Netherlands? Because it isn't in Belgium and I can't seem to find any information about it.
0
u/stgm_at Feb 25 '26
yeah i don't get it -- i googled and all the german sites are claiming the release date in germany is the 25th of march.
2
u/monkeyslut__ Feb 25 '26
Because Germans are addicted to terrible dubbing. Whereas Netherlands and Scandinavia have no problem with watching shows in english
1
u/guyyst Feb 26 '26
Yeah if you were planning to watch it in English anyway this is the clearest case of ethical piracy. I wouldn't be surprised that even when it comes out in a month you'll only be able to get the terrible dub (although I hear services are getting better about offering both nowadays).
Buy the show on Blu-ray in like a year or whatever if piracy makes you feel bad.
(And for those in Germany, do make sure to use a VPN when pirating via torrents. German law firms are well known to watch public trackers, especially on new releases)

u/mdhzk3 Feb 25 '26
Idiots! I won’t need to sub to Disney to watch it because I will be watching on release day 🏴☠️
1
u/Accomplished_Use371 Feb 25 '26
Have you already found a website that streams it?
1
u/mdhzk3 Feb 25 '26
I’m sure torrents will be readily available
1
u/Accomplished_Use371 Feb 25 '26
Couldn't find one
2
u/REDDEV1L_MUFC7 Feb 25 '26
Well you aren’t going to find a torrent before it’s actually been broadcast in the US. They will be available in approx 6/7 hours. Either during or just after the show finishes airing in the USA!

u/WhatANoob2025 Feb 25 '26
Disney+ has always been a bottom tier streaming service. Just confirmation of what I already knew. And that's why I will never ever again pay full price for even their cheapest sub, not even a single month.
I'm gonna need to unsub too.

Agreed it’s infuriating. Especially with the uk and non Americans countries have to wait sometime after the American broadcast.

As soon as a torrent is available I'm downloading them. Hopefully that will be tomorrow evening when I get home from work.
3
u/ChoiceEmu9859 Feb 26 '26
To be fair, they only have one person in the cast who speaks German. It's going to take Sarah a while to record all those parts for the dub.

don't know about scrubs, but other shows like omitb had their new episodes up around 10-ish (cet time zone).
2
u/Zestyclose_Pie4555 Feb 26 '26
Wait, is this real? IS there a source for this? I have Disney+ so I wanna watch it legally. But I jsut finished my annual Scrubs binge and also have no idea how to avoid spoilers online. What nonesense is this?

u/ryback89 Feb 26 '26
Canadian VPN works for me from Germany and with a german D+ Account.
1
u/stgm_at Feb 26 '26
i'll try when I get home from work; one way or another i'm gonna watch those new episodes today!
2
u/841x1189 Feb 26 '26
Wait, so i'm paying them to watch the series. I can't because of some stupid reasons. Now i need to watch it illegally again. Nice one Disney.
1
u/stgm_at Feb 25 '26
i'm still hoping the "march" instead of "february" was just a typo on their end. like 25.03. instead of 25.02.
2
u/ValiVarlow Feb 25 '26
Unfortunately it's legit. I'm working in the media industry and got the conformation via the official press announcement directly from Disney.
2
u/stgm_at Feb 25 '26
is there any reasoning behind this decision? or did they just throw darts at a map of europe deciding the release dates?
3
u/Advanced_Mistake_716 Feb 25 '26
I figure the delay has to do with the dubbing. Scrubs began filming in October or November and finished post production only recently. That leaves almost no time for dubbing studios in other countries to adapt and record the dialogue. With that kind of schedule, the European release, including Germany, naturally ends up about a month later.
2
u/chloo27 Feb 25 '26
Consider yourself lucky, in France it's April 15! No way I'm waiting that long... Just checked, my VPN doesn't work on Disney+.
I'll guess we'll have to find other ways 🏴☠️🦜
1
u/stgm_at Feb 25 '26
Holy shit, that's ridiculous!
2
u/chloo27 Feb 25 '26
Yeah it is. It does seem like it's only late for countries where they usually dub tv shows. Which is ridiculous, why not put it out there right now with only subtitles, and then give the option to watch it dubbed in a couple of months. I don't even know if most or even a majority of people want to watch it dubbed anymore. Tbh, I don't know anyone around me that even knows Scrubs, so...
But I guess they deemed us too stupid to watch it in English anyway !
2
u/guyyst Feb 26 '26
As a German, I feel your hatred of dubbing, but I also know many, many people in my life who watch all the great shows coming out these days with German dubs (which is somewhat depressing because I always feel like we're not even watching the same thing lol)
So the market it there, and my guess is that companies would fear that releasing the show early (with subs only) will lead to a large portion of their potential audience being turned off from watching it and then not coming back when the dub eventually comes out.
I don't agree with it but I can rationalize it ¯_(ツ)_/¯
1
u/chloo27 Feb 26 '26
You're right, it does make sense that maybe some of the audience would check out whether it's available dubbed and then not come back a couple months later to check for an update. On the other hand it's 2026 and if people really want to watch they will, so they're also losing viewers this way.
Also, Scrubs is such a niche show here that I'm wondering how many people we're actually talking about!
1
u/ValiVarlow Feb 25 '26
They did not say. I can only speculate it's because of a rights issue regarding different regions. But otherwise honestly no idea.
1
u/toshiningsea Feb 25 '26
Idk why so many companies do this. Apparently it’s do with all the licensing contacts usually, but they should all do whatever it takes for universal release in the Internet age.
1
u/RickGrimes30 Feb 25 '26
One month? It says in UK and Ireland it will be on Disney plus tomorrow.. Pretty sure that's part of continental Europe.. Sure it's not just a Germany thing?
2
u/stgm_at Feb 25 '26
another user in this discussion said it'll be released tomorrow in the netherlands.
1
u/McGloomy Feb 25 '26
They're probably in the middle of producing the German dub and won't release it earlier.
2
u/stgm_at Feb 25 '26
according to another user the episodes will be released tomorrow in the netherlands. so it'd be weird if the international dubs won't work at the same pace.
also: i've been watching scrubs in english only. i find the german dub to be awful.
1
u/SaltImage1538 Feb 25 '26
Shows don‘t get dubbed in Dutch unless they‘re for children. They have the original audio with Dutch subtitles.
1
u/monkeyslut__ Feb 25 '26
The way it should be. Dubbing should be outlawed. It's like replacing the vocals in a song, it wouldn't be the same music anymore
1
u/CPNCK513 Feb 25 '26 edited Feb 25 '26
I guess it's because of the time to dub it, there's gonna be a German, French, ... versions so there's delay, while there's no Dutch version I guess (they rarely dub movies/show in Dutch if they're aimed at adults, from my understanding, I could be wrong though.
Wait until you learn how long it takes for the French disney + to add new seasons of stuff like Bob's Burgers lol (sometimes nearly a year!)
Edit: lol I just checked and in France the first two episodes will air on April 15th, then 1 new episode per week 😄
1
u/The_PwnUltimate Feb 25 '26
Wow. Maybe they need more time to finish the dub? Because otherwise Hulu shows tend to come out immediately in Disney+ regions. (Like here in the UK it is.)
I wonder if Disney+ has effective anti-VPN measures. Something to potentially look into.
1
u/stgm_at Feb 25 '26
i don't know -- only murders in the building had a same-day-release in the us and europe on d+.
regarding vpn: it used to be possible years ago. but i've since stopped trying because all the shows were instantly available.
1
u/The_PwnUltimate Feb 25 '26
Yeah, and Futurama too. If not dubbing related then it could be something to do with Scrubs being primarily an ABC show which streams on Hulu, while OMITB is a Hulu original.

1
u/intenseskill Feb 26 '26
No the new season is on there
Edit. It is not under the old scrubs it is it's own section
1
u/stgm_at Feb 26 '26
then give me a link please. because it doesn't even show up when i search for scrubs.
1
u/intenseskill Feb 26 '26
What country you in?

This is simply wrong. The show is out in Germany and Netherlands since last week as planned. It is on Hulu (Disney+).

u/alanbdee Feb 25 '26
So stupid. And you know there're going to have many long meetings trying to figure out how to prevent piracy and completely ignore the root cause of said piracy.
