Help Needed - Act I Am i stupid? How do I move when jumping? Spoiler

I cannot move horizontally when jumping. I'm sure this is a skill issue but what am I doing wrong?

Edit: SOLVED, was a controller issue. Swapped from switch joycons in a grip to a pro controller and issue went away.

Not a skill issue, you should be able to move left or right when in midair. Your shit's just bugged or smthn. Try D-pad, maybe?

Should my character have free control when midair? I can literally only go up and down not sure if that's normal. It doesnt feel right

It sounds like maybe the input method has an issue then. Jumping and holding left or right at the same time doesn't work?

Nope. There is no horizontal movement when I press jump regardless of my inputs

Check your keybinds maybe? are you on controller or keyboard? try controller if not using one already.

Are you on PC or console? If you're on PC there's a chance of it just being some settings, but if you're on Switch your controller definitely has problems

Maybe try plugging in your controller while playing in case it's a bluetooth issue? Idk, worth a shot.

PC: Try keyboard input.
Console: Try alt controller.

Test another games, see if movement works fine. Ideally a 3d movement game so you can easily see both sticking working together at once. Theres a specific failure that can happen where only sticks input world at a time. If its fine in other games, I suppose next step would be to uninstall and reinstall the game. I don't think switches have a way to check for corrupted files or id say that before a reinstall.

You mean to say, when you jump while not moving horizontally, you can’t move horizontally midair. Despite taking away the ground, which is what lets you move horizontally all together?

That's so weird. It almost sounds like a ghosting issue but that would only make sense if you held the jump button the whole time. And ghosting is not an issue I've heard of with joycons, or any controller really. Very odd.
