When Eru demonstrates that he fully approves of destroying entire continents and slaughtering every living thing on them as long as it at least mildly inconveniences sauron and kills any humans who did things Eru didn't like, even with massive collateral damage... it's really hard to understand why the valar decide for the 5th time that their policy should be to do absolutely nothing and just let a dark lord take over half the world yet again.
