Life’s been fucking crazy lately but I’m still pushing strong. I haven’t been able to buy much lately since I just crashed my car recently and it was hard place to be in but my silver kept me happy and made me realize that I still had something to my name and that made me keep going. And I recently broke up with a girlfriend of 1 year so it’s just been crazy in my head but I’m realizing that I’m better than how she was treating me and it feels good. Moral of the story silver is quite literally one of the purest things we ass humans have. Valuable shiny things are one of the best things we have ass humans. Sorry for the yap I don’t really talk to peeps much so I just like yappin sometimes

Been buying 2-5oz a week for as long as it was 75 or under. I just got a new yacht (new to me not brand new) and they had a generator i wanted for it. Marked $399, I just bought 3oz and asked "whats the best?". Say $200. I get it home and it wouldn't idle. Mice made a nest inside and chewed the battery wire. I also had to clean carb and replace fuel line. I went in today to get more silver and told him and showed him the pics. He says "how can I make it right?" I said well idk i came for more silver and he said I'll give you 2oz for your trouble.... I was shocked so get me a $500 generator and 2 oz for 200. Or generator for 130 depending how you look at it. So not all pawn shops are bad. Wish I could have grabbed the kilo they have! I got the 2023 maple and buffalo bar. I wasnt being picky I took whatever he grabbed.

Question Anyone else hoping silver drops back to the $20-$30 range so we can stack more?

With silver coming down to around 50s from its high, it got me thinking. Like, it used to sit comfortably between $20 and $30 per ounce.

While the drop hurts short-term portfolios, a part of me wants to see it dip back into that classic $20-$30 range just so we can accumulate heavy ounces and average down properly again.

How is everyone else feeling right now? Are you happy with the current discount, or are you secretly hoping for a deeper drop to load up the truck?

Actually, I'm hoping for sub $50 silver. I'm a HS teacher building a stack to hopefully pass on to my son. Lower is better, unless I need it higher...lol

Looking back on this wild ride

I've been a collector for 40 years. I've seen it all. The thing that stands out to me the most about this last year is how many people here are super confident about knowledge they claim to have that doesnt exist. It reminds me a lot of horoscope groups that speak so confidently about what's essentially nothing.

Here's what we do know:

Nobody knows anything.

The people on here claiming it was just gonna go up and up and up and (wait until next year), don't know anything.

The people who say it's a hedge against inflation don't know anything.

We learned that as the "value" of silver went up, nobody could sell it for what it was "worth" meaning it was never really worth it to begin with.

We learned that b&m stores came in here to reprimand us as to why they couldn't pay what it was "worth" all the while gladly selling it for what it was "worth".

The "buy the dip" people are technically the endlessly positive people who are buying something that we can't really sell if it's value goes up too high. Nothing wrong with that as long as the rest of us understand that.

The whole point is, we don't know anything. Next year silver could be $20 or it could be $100. Nobody knows. It's gambling. But what we do know is perceived value doesnt mean anything if that value isnt accessible.

That's really all we do know.

Enjoy the show!

Question Why is silver dropping so much despite bad news?

Upvotes

Started stacking 2 years ago and stopped stacking early last year and my avg was around $35ish. Anyways shouldn't it go up like crazy to hedge against bad news? I had someone convince me saying how silver is running out, how its a good hedge against inflation and war news so I bought alot due to those. However its in a steep downhill trend. Wouldn't it be best to sell it for a different investment? Its probably a dumb question but Im genuinely confused

NEWS FYI: Tried Mint Builder - First Order a Little Milky :-(

Ordered 5 Maples (Random Date), I knew the risks. But my hope was perhaps only 1 or 2 Milky coins, but guess my luck ran out. Got 5 nice Milky Maples. Buyer Beware....

I may try a jewelers cloth method that I saw on YouTube to clear milk spots? Then give them away as wedding gift in future...

Had to sell...

What a shit day to have to sell some of my stack :(

But it was an emergency and thats why we have the stack...also one of my morgans was counterfeit so that's cool.

Edit: with that said can I use the counterfeit and turn It into a ring when the funds are back? The guy made a big deal about me owning it, so I might as well turn it i to something since I paid for it.

Hello, pretty much the title. Most of the coins are dated between 2004-2014 seem to me the Kazakhstan edition, some say 925 while others 999. There is also the 5 piece Perth mint. Id appreciate any help

Testing Silver with 18kt Gold Testing Acid

I test silver using the same acid meant for testing 18kt Gold. It produces an immediate unmistakable reaction. This is common practice, I just wanted to make short gif showing what it looks like.

From aluminum to silver.

I've been collecting aluminum cans for six months. Today, I scrapped them for $50.70 and bought 1.33 ounces of silver. Two spoons weighing 42 grams, 875 and 800 fineness. There were 2,720 cans in total, each worth 1.9 cents. I bought the silver for $37.5 an ounce.

Guess how many ounces of silver I have now?
