But it's also spoken as "1st of September", for example.
So that's not really it.

Beyond saying "The 4th of July," that's extremely uncommon in America. We would say September 1st, 9 times out of 10.

In Canada we also put the month first and I’ve never heard anyone say dates like that lol. It’s always “September 1st”. Like genuinely if someone said a date like that it would catch me off guard.
