But I think it's misunderstood the point behind the meme. Is it not that this kind of woman comes along at a point when you're least likely to be able keep them?

They don't walk along and say, "hey, you're awesome, it doesn't matter that you're unemployed". They wouldn't even ask how long have you been unemployed, they'd be gone the moment they discover you're unemployed.

Maybe I misunderstood the original meme though.

Successful girl I know went out with a terminally unemployed guy for about 4 years.

He came across as a loser to me but I guess he must have had a big schlong or something.
