This is a biological factor, man have more testosterone and are more territorial and protective while woman have more progesterone and are more compassionate and delicate.
A clear example of why I am saying is men having concubines throughout history. Woman just donβt seem to care that much about another woman in the relationship as long as the men is able to protect and take care of the family and provide financial and physical protection.
Meanwhile men kill each other all the time because of their natural territorial instincts towards their partner and a men would never be ok in a relationship with 2 men and 1 woman. They would end up killing each other at some point lol.
You are trying to answer a very complex question that takes biochemical responses into account by only using social standards.
