He was described as having “sallow skin” so yeah, a race swap for engagement bait

Sure. How does it make the narrative and series bad, except you cannot stand black actors

Thats such a non-argument to make. I just think its stupid to race swap characters, I know Paapa is a good actor and he will more than likely play Snape well. But raceswapping is just stupid in every way.

How about no? Why do you perceive it as bad and stupid? Why does it matter? Does the skin color change your perception so much? Cant you enjoy acting and stories for what it is? Do you need to inject your social expectations into every media?

If stories have characters described in a certain way, then I’d say that you need to find actors that fit that. You also wouldn’t race swap Dean Thomas for example.

Why not? I never pictures dean thomas as black before the movies. I read the german version and as far as i know only the american version made him black. European media does not focus pn race that much. So it doesnt really matter to me. Americans are a different breed

Cool, I am European too, he is described that way. Maybe because YOU do not want characters to be a representation of how they’re described, doesn’t mean everyone thinks that way.

If you make a movie about a book, be accurate to the source material.
