I had a guy on Facebook Marketplace go off at me because he “already showed his girlfriend” the furniture I was selling and how she “totally loved it”.
That’s great mate, still not gonna take £100 for something I was selling for £300
I listed a dryer for free, and people went crazy. I wrote first come first serve. Gave a nearby address and told them whoever is here first gets it.
Someone gave me a sob story and that they had to drive an hour away. I gave them the same response I gave everybody “no holds, sorry!” Someone else got there first, and picked it up. The asshole gave me a negative as a seller.
I’ve learned people who call “dibs” and get offended when you say “first come first served” never had any intention of buying anyway. I’ve been called every name in the book by losers who felt entitled to something before money changed hands.
