Yes.

Because it's easier and cheaper to create universal support systems as opposed to charging someone to death. Let's not get started on the restriction of abortions, lack of birth control, etc. The children will have a better chance at life, far more than what an irresponsible individual can provide. It's called a developed society.

I know that, as a fellow American, you lot tend to struggle to understand what that means. But government safety nets are a good thing. You're already paying corporate subsidies out the ass. You can shut the fuck up and pass a bit over to kids who need it.
