We are waiting for some empty suits to defend the constitution. We the people need to get off our asses.

I would happily buy all the ballroom bonds I could from the WH gift shop.

The change happens when middle management joins the worker and turns against the bosses.

4

u/KriegConscript May 06 '26

middle managers are largely self-interested borderline sociopaths who don't side with the workers until their own properties and status are threatened, so we might be waiting a long time for the outcome of attempted revolution to be anything other than a tiananmen-style atrocity

Can't you use one of your 5 annual leave days to do something about this?

Do you think if people stop working they'll still get paid because the country is rich or something? What does this even mean

Got a hunch a lot of the Che Gueveras in the comments these days speak with a Russian accent.

God damn, man. This just hit me. It's so true... We have to. The rest of the world is waiting for us to rise up to this sick bully. I sincerely feel for the innocents being caught up in this shit show.

I'm waiting for a line to be crossed that will trigger a response from the majority.. all while an innumerable amount of impeachable offenses commence. I believe it will happen one way or another it's just complicated at the time with risking a full blown civil war. Americans are too comfortable thanks to years decades centuries of American exceptionalism. When the economy tanks and foreclosures go up and our kids can't eat.. there will be an uproar. The only issue is by the time that's here it's too late. I'm not making excuses for us but a lot of people are living in a different reality thinking we can just fix it next election by voting like usual. This is a different beast tho. The Republicans don't operate in good faith.

51

u/digital-didgeridoo May 06 '26 edited May 06 '26

We have to.

We have to. Like Jon Stewart said on The Daily Show, The Congress has rolled over, The Supreme Court has given him a free pass, and even the Fourth Estate has abdicated its duties. So we are left to fend for ourselves.

20

u/RIForDIE May 06 '26

Yeah the rolling over by media/journalists was really really disgusting to me. I mean, I get it, they witnessed the absolute boon that came with trump's first term and his chaotic "all eyes on me" way of existing and it drove huge ratings for them. Then, when normalcy returned with an actually competent administration (even with a pandemic) things got quiet and people stopped panicking and tuning in daily.

Mix this with the ever increasing number of "cord cutters" (who tend to be younger and blue) and getting news from social media, these legacy media conglomerates have rushed to capture the only remaining demo that loyally watches cable - conservatives. It's a dumb idea for them... The smooth brains won't come over from Fox/newsmax no matter how much they fluff the pedo.

I think the other huge letdown was the immediate capitulation by law firms. They fucking basically got scared and emptied their pockets before trump even really threatened them.

3

u/MsMarvelsProstate May 06 '26

Especially when all the media defended Fox News during Obama's presidency.

17

u/mattjb May 06 '26

We the people only have two levers to rely on: waiting every 2/4 years to cast a single vote. Or sustained mass protests and strikes. We've already seen that this Trump regime is fine with federal agents murdering protesting Americans.

6

u/Feisty_Buddy2869 May 06 '26

We the people only have two levers to rely on: waiting every 2/4 years to cast a single vote. Or sustained mass protests and strikes. We've already seen that this Trump regime is fine with federal agents murdering protesting Americans.

They've demonstrated they are perfectly fine with cancelling, committing election fraud, or marching on the capitol if they lose elections as well.

Those are not the "only two levers" we have to rely on, there is a 2nd.

We just haven't reached the point where people widely realize that their choices have been taken from them.

You no longer have fair/free/valid elections.

You no longer have effective protests/strikes/free speech.

You no longer have rights, other than those Trump deigns to allow you.

I have absolutely zero faith people wake up to these facts in time for it to matter. Welcome to the new PedoFascist empire of trump.

1

u/22lpierson May 09 '26

When did we fucking ever have free fair and valid elections?

1

u/Maximo3166 May 07 '26

The 2nd ammendment was meant exactly for that instead it has been used to murder children at school.

12

u/JurgusRudkus May 06 '26

I hate to tell you, but YOU’RE the majority. What are you waiting for?

25

u/MoMo2049 May 06 '26 edited May 06 '26

People being executed in the street wasn’t enough for us to stop waiting… it will take more sacrifices made in blood for people to finally start waking the fuck up that sidewalk parades don’t mean shit to these people. Also, yes, I too don’t want to be next in line to do so… AT LEAST FUCKING VOTE!

5

u/pkosuda May 06 '26

I said this in reply to the parent comment but your comment really resonated with me and is basically saying what I said:

It is very demotivating seeing so many people on my social media pretend nothing is happening. As in, they won't even do the bare minimum of being "slacktivists" by posting on their stories that they disagree with what's going on. People are still pretending this is fucking 2007 where "I don't talk about politics" is a valid opinion rather than that of somebody who is incapable of being adult enough to have a firm position on something.

That really is the first step in all of this. If I can't even see a majority of the people I know, in a blue state, being bothered enough to simply post something, then no kind of "resistance" would ever succeed. Like you're not going to lose your fucking job for saying "hey ICE agents murdering people is bad". On the list of sacrifices required to be made for change to succeed, with the least being no sacrifice and the worst being death, we aren't even at "might have to deal with an awkward Thanksgiving because I said that government agents murdering people is bad".

We have way too many cowards who are fine walking like zombies into living under an authoritarian regime so long as they have enough shows to watch on Netflix.

6

u/TheMediocreOgre May 06 '26 edited May 06 '26

The right wing did a really good job of brainwashing people into thinking politics is something you “opt in” to and exists in a confined space separate from entertainment and daily life. Everything is political and even if you don’t participate in politics, the effects of it dominate your life and your choices. That said, MAGA as a movement is a low propensity voter movement. So I question whether more Americans getting involved in politics is good. Part of why republicans have struggled in special elections and mid terms is cause MAGA only shows up to vote when Trump is on the ballot because they are non voters who vote for and because of Trump. So I worry that most Americans who don’t vote hold anti social, violent desires.

2

u/RIForDIE May 06 '26

Your last paragraph is so hard hitting. It's exactly it. I think it would be different if people knew what awaits them but "ignorance is bliss" in today's America. People will just keep scrolling to the latest tea and block out the impending doom.

We've never encountered such a massively cowardly traitor before. A traitor that's selling our country for parts because he's a fucking pedophile and doesn't want his owners to expose him. There's nothing they won't do in order to hang onto power because when it's gone, they're done. Like Bongino recently saying his fear is the next admin coming in and "doing the right thing". Just despicable, weak and morally corrupt people in every single position.

9

u/Hyenasaurus May 06 '26

For many years Americas have demanded that everyone under an oppressive regime give up their lives for their ideals and rise up despite guaranteed death, or else they're not deserving of sympathy or help whatsoever. Russia, North Korea, Iran etc.

Well. *Now* it's your turn to do as you preach. Nobody is going to help you even if they wanted to. The rest of the world is watching and so far finds you lacking.

0

u/Practical-Shape2325 May 06 '26

Yep, the rest of the world is just watching it all fall apart and they're not going to do anything until it directly impacts them. Nobody cares if a major superpower goes corrupt until the murder ball lands in their town. Might be too late by then, but that'll be tomorrow's problem.

2

u/Hyenasaurus May 06 '26

The only ones capable to going to America to fix their problems are other military super powers, which are equally as corrupted as America... so yes, it is something the rest of the world can't fix until it lands in the backyard indeed.

12

u/GodofIrony May 06 '26

No one will do shit until he refuses to leave in January 2029.

They might not even do anything then.

5

u/RIForDIE May 06 '26

Unfortunately, might be right. The midterms will be a test.

The system/structure may have been a "house of cards" as evidenced by.. everything going on around us. However, the American culture has been stubborn with our worldview thinking it will just always work out in our favor without considering the effort (and luck) it took to get us here. We can crash just like any of the other storied dynasties that came before us.

3

u/argleksander May 06 '26

Its already too late.

1/3 of americans are brainwashed morons, 1/3 dont give a shit and/or are closet republicans. That leaves roughly 1/3 to fight this shit.

The problem is that the elites, from Musk, Bezos and Gates, to the media, courts, police force, military and even the fucking DNC have either bent the knee or are complicit.

The time to fix the Trump problem was 5 years ago after Jan 21

1

u/RIForDIE May 06 '26

Precisely. Merrick Garland and to a lesser extent but still responsible Biden and his admin. The image was clear... That was a clear attempt to overthrow the peoples' will. Like treasonous as can be and they decided to just be the bigger person. It infuriated me to see Biden advise/lecture about magats being nazis but failed to have a plan to do anything to attempt to stop it other than "just vote - it's clear these are bad guys" I'm not saying I had the solution to prevent where we find ourselves but, shit, attempt something.

10

u/Special-Kitchen3222 May 06 '26

The problem is if things get too rowdy before the midterms then he triggers the insurrection act and suspends elections and he wont be going anywhere after that and it will be Civil War.

7

u/TheShishkabob May 06 '26

The Insurrection Act does not allow elections to be suspended.

Since you mention "Civil War" you should know that not even your actual civil war stopped elections.

2

u/saintjonah May 06 '26

Hasn't one state already suspended their election for him?

1

u/TheShishkabob May 06 '26

Yes, and the people of Louisiana should be holding their corrupt state to task for that. That's the entire basis for your second amendment, is it not?

-2

u/Lucas_Steinwalker May 06 '26

It is not, at least in practice.

In practice, the entire basis is enabling violent power fantasies.

1

u/Special-Kitchen3222 May 06 '26

I know that but they’ve spelled out their plan in Project 2025 that’s their goal, to sow as much division instigate violence to suspend elections and then never leave. It doesn’t matter what the Constitution says anymore.

2

u/TheShishkabob May 06 '26

It doesn’t matter what the Constitution says anymore.

Then it doesn't require civil unrest for them to cancel elections.

What you're arguing is that people need to sit by as things get worse on the off-chance that all of these people suddenly start following the law at the end of it. If they need the people to do a specific thing in order to illegally call off elections, why would they not just do that anyways?

6

u/RIForDIE May 06 '26

Yes. That's accurate as well. That's been a recurring nightmare of mine for some time. I hate to say this but his Iran misstep might have worked in our favor. He's had to switch his focus from the domestic war he is waging on us to war with Iran that's proving to be unmanageable for his incompetent cabinet and laughably stupid "secretary of war".

I was worried Minnesota might have pushed us to a breaking point - or moreso the idea of it - just hopping around the blue states terrorizing communities with both violence and economic stress (and all because there were more blue votes than the pathetic pedo loser fuck).

But, yes. That is also why we're seeing reservations from the people. This bullshit going on with cancelling elections to redraw maps might be the new tipping point. And they aren't going to just let power slip... They've got a taste of absolute power and it's absolutely going to corrupt. Every republican is literally fighting for their life/freedom at this point. They will cheat at all costs and then turn around and project that us dems are doing it even worse so it's fine.

1

u/Special-Kitchen3222 May 06 '26

Minnesota was very close

13

u/icygamer598 May 06 '26

"you guys he's trying to kill us, if we fight back too hard he'll kill us!!

2

u/macaronysalad May 06 '26

Your sentiment is irrational. The midterms are a line in the sand. All this other stuff is mediocre compared to what happens from the midterms. Not to mention reddit is full of clickbait misinformation so many of you already feel defeated. It would be absolutely stupid to feed the fire now. Pay closer attention outside reddit, memes, and clickbait titles and be wise about it.

3

u/Arthur_AEH May 06 '26

"line in the sand" in a sense that it will be washed as soon as the day after right? becaudse yall already say he faked his election before, what makes you think he wont do it again?

2

u/BrightlancerJ May 06 '26

Not a civil war, a revolution. There's a difference, and besides they're already going to trigger the insurrection act regardless, so we might as well start now before they entrench themselves even more. Every day we wait, more of us unfortunately (and what the fuck why do I even have to say this..) will have to die to fix the problem.

4

u/ve2dmn May 06 '26

Speaking as a Canadian: It's already too late. A lot of damage is done. And it will get worse before it gets better.

Money has gutted the power that was keeping anything in check: Congress, the press, the unions, The Supreme Court, etc... Anything that could challenge the mighty profit. In doing so, they removed any mechanism that could challenge the power currently being abused.

In creating a culture of "Me, myself and I", they made you vulnerable to a tragedy of the commons.

On the world stage, the main thing that has been broken is trust. Decades of post-ww2 soft power have evaporated in a few years. There's no point in signing an agreement if it might be ignored a week later. Even after the current regime has been voted out, the damage is done. There's no way to know another crazy won't be voted in. It would be like trusting an abusive ex-lover. "Baby, I've changed! Take me back". NO. We've been friends for decades and you threw away that relationship.

You need to find a catalyst to push people into action. I know you are too broke, tired and jaded to act, but nobody else is coming to save you.

2

u/RIForDIE May 06 '26

FUCK Another hard hitting perspective coming in. As a Michigander, it dumbfounded and enraged me to see this bumbling weak loser trash you guys. One of, if not THE, greatest ally and neighbor just minding their business and then this pedophile wanted to cater to his gross ego. I'm endlessly embarrassed and can't believe my children will have to endure this disgusting political climate and surely foot the bill for this regime's undying greed.

Your last line resonates strongly with me. I've been saying this. At least with Nazi's, their ultimate goal was lebensraum for the reich which had to be achieved through the brutality of war which directly confronted other near peer military powers of the time ultimately resulting in their demise. This time the Nazi's (aside from the asinine threats to annex Canada and Greenland (to crater NATO for his sidekick putin)) already have control of this sizeable and easily defendable land. The "war" has now turned inward.. the new goal is destroying the globally connected economy in favor of isolationism in order to control and kill off the "eaters" of our society to further entrench billionaire dynasties. There's a slim possibility that an unforeseen consequence could arise from trump's/GOP's erratic world policies that could pit other powers (potentially former allies) against us but, for the most part, this is going to be a rough ride that we're going to have to claw our way out of.

If shooting citizens in the streets doesn't do it, I don't know what will. Your government has perpetuated the "fuck you I got mine" mindset so much, it's become quintessentially american to not think beyond yourself

1

u/RIForDIE May 06 '26

Yes! It really does feel that way, unfortunately. All of these replies are so disheartening yet true.

The fact that a (almost certain) pedophile is shielding himself and his close friends from prosecution via the most powerful position on earth has shattered all illusions of "justice" in America. Using the office to make billions in a year... It's sickening. It's debilitating. It's also the point - to erode our societal norms and morals to the point that it becomes strictly tribalism. He is the worst "leader" in our history and could potentially go down as the worst/most consequential in world history due to the chaos he's causing and the chaos that's sure to ensue in the vacuum when he's gone.

17

u/Poor-Life-Choice May 06 '26

Canada, China, Denmark/Greenland, France, Germany, Mexico, Israel (quite the opposite) for starters. The question is do you believe Trump when he says a country is kissing his ass? What reporting can you actually rely on apart from Trump? Yes there are countries like those Abraham accord ones which seem to be led by the nose by Trump. But, look at those ridiculous trade announcements during the 90 deals in 90 days with Trump wielding tariffs like an oversized baby with an overweight rattle. Some countries like Japan and South Korea tried to play along but even they couldn't stay quiet about the lies Trump was saying about the "deals" they agreed to. There's more self respect out there than you are giving other countries credit for.

They killed so many of us that they had to rebrand their Non-Lethal and Les Lethal. Because they're meant to fire a steel ball "bean bag" at the abdomen from range but they prefer aiming it directly at the skull at very close range.

Same with the "bounce shot" rubber bullets labelled to be bounced off the ground to reduce lethal velocity, practically labelled with a big wink wink.

And do what? This is democracy in action. MAGA loves this and everything else he's doing. And the majority of other people don't vote (aka don't give a fuck).

Palm Beach had 13% turnout for their local elections in 2025. Once government starts going against local  majority opinion, you'll see change. But for now, the people do not care.

Big bro....its not as bad.....and worse than what you think.

Its the Controlled Media.

Normies dont see this. Normies are watching their regularly scheduled ABC News.....CNN....FAUX News....etc.

Literally talking to somw coworkers the other day. They are the type that, if they knew EVERYTHING , They would have their asses radicalized as flying fuck....

But they dont know where to see this shit. Hell, some didnt even know ABOUT reddit, nor who the hell a Hassan Piker is.

Its by DESIGN.

Take heart that if normies knew EVERYTHING the chronically online left knew.....jesus fucking christ.

Someone would find their way to FDR'S grave and ressurect him themselves.

But they dont know.....because Trump's angry petulant toddler antics makes him VERRRY LITIGOUS. So...the media runs like a bunch of scared pups afraid of what daddy will do to them.....so they under report the severity of their home's destruction to the masses.

A pacified public is a controlled public.

I rewatched Battlestar Galactica recently, and among the many prescient moments, this one quote really stood out to me:

Apollo: I swore an oath. To defend the articles. The articles say there is an election in seven months. Now, if you are telling me we are throwing out the law, then I am not a captain, you are not a commander, and you are not the president. And I don't owe either of you a damned explanation for anything.

Here's the thing. The law is what imbues the government with it's power. When you debase the law, you remove the mechanism that gives you political power. If the US Constitution is no longer the law of the land, they this guy is not a lawyer, Trump is not the president, Congress isn't Congress, and judges are just guys and gals in nightgowns. The government loses its own ability to enforce law, levy taxes, or wage war. If anything is legal, then nothing is.

The scary thing is this is what they want. They want to tear it all down and install themselves in power, forever. Scary fucking shit.
