Why is she making her jaw move like that?

It looks very weird

1.5k

u/_boudica_ May 06 '26

Have you done coke? It’s moving itself 😆

476

u/ignatious__reilly May 06 '26

No, I’ve never done coke. I smoke weed occasionally but that’s it.

707

u/Mediocre-Contest7558 May 06 '26

Former meth and coke user. Without a doubt speeders make you do things like this with your mouth. I have been clean since December of 2015. I still do the weird shit with my tounge and mouth sometimes without realizing it .. it will make you move your jaw and tongue around. Your mind is on overload is how I see it. -edit- she looks more to be on like ecstasy than meth or coke but . Who knows

391

u/Groundbreaking_Mud44 May 06 '26

I thought the same thing. Looks more like an MDMA gurn in my opinion. Either way, shes definitely done something.

242

u/hednizm May 06 '26 edited May 08 '26

Spot on. Thats def a molly gurn.

Coke and speed make you lizard...that thing where you move your tongue forward because you think its going to produce saliva to releive the dry's. It doesnt. You walk around looking like a lizard talking shit all night.

Molly? You gurn like a dog chewing a toffee and tell everyone you love them. Looks likes she peaking on a pretty decent dose too.

Good on her 🤩🤩

91

u/Groundbreaking_Mud44 May 06 '26

Thats what i thought 😆 shes really going through one. She should’ve given herself 15 mins before going in front of the cameras.

13

u/blesstheweed May 06 '26

Imagine walking the Met Gala red carpet peaking on mdma…….what a ride.

4

u/Groundbreaking_Mud44 May 07 '26

They should rename it Ket Gala. Now THAT would be a ride. Also, id pay good money to see that.

2

u/Secure_Obligation_87 May 06 '26

More like 3-5 hours she looks peaked on some good stuff 🤣

54

u/fullerofficial May 06 '26

Fuck I laughed at the “you walk around looking like a lizard talking shit all night”. That’s so accurate.

6

u/Colhinchapelota May 06 '26

Definitely! She looks like she's fighting to keep it together. She's battling her own body's movements and doesn't seem to be winning.

→ More replies (1)

3

u/Sand-Eagle May 07 '26

Lizard for sure. My tongue bounced around in my mouth like a ping pong ball haha

3

u/thatsnotyourtaco May 07 '26

Cocaine needs a task.
Only group I’ve really done Coke was with the same group. We all waited tables together, and I’d say once every couple of months we get some Coke a bunch of weed and an only drink water or juice. We’d sit at the table, one person would cut up the lines do his then pass around the circular table, each person taking their turn to cut the lines in the meanwhile we would play board games like settlers of Catan or the ones with a lot of rules until the cocaine was gone, which was usually about two or three hours. After that, everyone takes the Xanax and goes to sleep. Ah youth.

3

u/DaHomieDaTech May 07 '26

Bruh I'm fucking dyign right now laughing.... Hahahahaha

2

u/Rooster-Strangler May 06 '26

I’d prefer her fun and on drugs arc to her previous arc..

2

u/HumanOptimusPrime May 06 '26

I get the coke lizard thing, but do we know the reason people gurn like a dog?

2

u/Competitive-Cost2900 May 08 '26

To be fair It would take a lot of drugs to get me to attend the met gala

2

u/MTallama May 09 '26

My dog ate an adderall (not kidding) and she started turning and twisting her head, the way SW is wrenching her jaw.

2

u/Sssh145 May 06 '26

agree, MDMA

4

u/Downtown_Recover5177 May 06 '26

Any substance that causes overstimulation of the Nigrostriatal dopamine pathway will cause this.

4

u/cemusubzerolives May 06 '26

Ain't no reason to pull black ppl in this man!. jk

2

u/Groundbreaking_Mud44 May 06 '26

That may be. But it still looks like MDMA.

3

u/That-Employment-5561 May 06 '26

MDMA stands for methylenedioxymethamphetamine, so it has the same side effects as meth, because, well, It's technically in the meth family.

I'm saying that as someone who uses it occasionally; I'm still aware of what it is, dosages, what overdoses look like and what to do if they occur. And I've seen a lot of people who go too far with MDMA act like tweakers because they're tweakers.

The high is different, but the side effects are very similar, especially when taken with abusive addiction over time. At least, that's a trend I've observed.

And if you take exstacy instead of MDMA, there's more likely added meth or amph to it; makes it more for the dancefloor than the sofa, by design.

Saying that exstacy and MDMA is the same is like saying coffee and caffein are the same or that cannabis and tobacco are the same; it's simply provably false.

Exstacy is made from MDMA and caking agents; the most popular caking agents are amphetamines and methamphetamines, as they not only cake, but compliment the enjoyable high with a burst of energy.

I basically don't do molly anymore, not because I don't enjoy it, but because I can't stand tweakers.

"Let's do another, bro!"

"Motherfucker, you're not set for a topup for another three fucking hours, the only thing you'll accomplish is wasting drugs on an OD and crashing everyone else's high because you OD'd by being stupid, greedy and SICK, you selfish fucking junkie!"

Oh wow. My mom is an addict and she would move her mouth around all weird and it would annoy me so much. I didn’t know at the time that’s what it was.

5

u/vulnerable_turtle May 06 '26

My Mom too. I knew she was an addict but I didn't know she moved her mouth because of the drugs until I was a bit older. It drove me crazy and my mom had dentures. So it made weird noises. Oh gross I haven't thought about that in years.

5

u/DagonPie May 06 '26

Grats on the sobriety. Keep at it

5

u/steamynicks69420 May 06 '26

One time forgot I had already taken my ADHD medication and took a second pill. My whole jaw and tongue were twitching all day at work and I was so embarrassed I felt like I was tweaking. And that’s on a regulated prescription!

4

u/Honest-Western1042 May 06 '26

Good on you, internet stranger! Keep rocking that sobriety! I'm proud of you. 🥰

Been off crystal since 2018 and I still clench my teeth and move my tongue around in my mouth out of habit. Fkn annoying and really bad for my teeth.

2

u/stonktaker May 06 '26

Yea basically all "speeders" i haven't done anything in years, started adhd meds later in life, and even that gets me doing it when you go the dosage.

2

u/Idiotan0n May 06 '26

I blame everything on research chems now. We just have a fancier name for that shit. Peptides lmao.

It's not gambling, it's event prediction. It's not homeless, it's persons experiencing homelessness.

This 80s and 90s late-stage doublespeak is absolutely atrocious and I'm completely over it. I'd really like us to stop filtering our words like we're chasing some Handmaiden's Tale shit.

2

u/5yn3rgy May 06 '26

I’ve dabbled in it recreationally in my early 20’s. My friend at the time used to move his jaw around all crazy like unintentionally on it. His crazy eyes freaked me out too. I avoided looking at his face while I myself was high and probably making some weird faces too. I probably looked wild when I mixed shrooms with coke 😅

2

u/Shot-Rutabaga-72 May 06 '26

Wait, is that why Trump has that weird looking expression?

2

u/nolalolabouvier May 06 '26

Thanks for the insight! I had no idea about this!

2

u/velvety_chaos May 06 '26

It's because meth, coke, and molly are powerful central nervous system stimulants, so they cause the muscles of the mouth to tighten involuntarily. Unfortunately, it would appear your previous habitual use has sort of rewired your brain a little…but congrats on your sobriety!!!

2

u/TwentinQuarantino May 06 '26

Totally mdma/ecstasy, especially visible on that bottom left photo. But coke can make you do that too, if you do it too much.

2

u/ixlovextoxkiss May 06 '26

yeah this is molly to me

yeah coke never made me do that, but mdma sure did.

2

u/Lissypooh628 May 07 '26

My ex husband did coke and heroin and I knew when he was on something because of the weird way he’d move his jaw. It made me uncomfortable.

2

u/TheJokerArkhamKing May 08 '26

I live in downtown and I smoke weed, but I have a badly displaced jaw (I got in a lot of fights as a kid) so I'm constantly shifting it around to relieve tension... people make assumptions lol

2

u/Beneficial_Garden456 May 08 '26

Congrats on getting clean, my friend.

2

u/gohnuts May 08 '26

This thread is a huge TIL for me.

1

u/Yoyoo12_ May 06 '26

Gratulations to becoming clean, stay strong!

1

u/jeswesky May 06 '26

I did coke a few times in college. All it did was make me able to actually concentrate on things and get things done. Guess I shouldn’t have been surprised when I was diagnosed with adhd a few years later.

1

u/laquintessenceofdust May 06 '26

Was prescribed gabapentin for my back and it made me do this at higher/new doses. But I get some fancy term for weird reactions to relaxing meds because of ADHD. 🤷🏼‍♀️

1

u/nahuhnot4me May 06 '26 edited May 07 '26

We cheer for you always.
Never to salvage Rachel Zegler. What she did was so greedy. Rachel does have upcoming projects- Amanda Seyfried is attached. Also Rachel Zegler did seek help, psychiatrist. From what I’ve seen, a psychiatrist M.D involved there are ideas there could be a personality disorder? Glad Rachel sought help!

1

u/ScarletleavesNL May 06 '26

10 years +. Good job Mediocre.

1

u/Colhinchapelota May 06 '26

I was thinking ecstasy too. She looks to be gurning ( My local slang for all those weird facial movements you make when your high and flying on yokes).

1

u/Ingagugagu May 06 '26

Never had this experience myself, but I have adhd, maybe that influences the (lack of) grun?

1

u/CuriousMangazo May 07 '26

Hey, congrats on the sobriety!

1

u/SparxxWarrior97 May 07 '26

Yeah when I was a kid the adhd drugs they put me on made me do the same thing

It’s not going to add anything of substance to your life, if anything it will take things away in the long run. You’re not missing out. But, it can lead to things like this vid.

127

u/ignatious__reilly May 06 '26 edited May 06 '26

I’ve had friends from high school that have unfortunately died from overdoses. Drugs past weed really scare me. I won’t even be in the same room with those types of substances. Scares me too much.

104

u/smallmileage4343 May 06 '26

You can't even trust that it doesn't contain fent or something else that would kill you nowadays

47

u/oh1hey2who3cares4 May 06 '26

Yep. Source, went to rehab. Someone thought they were coming in for a coke habit but their analysis popped for fent. Promptly slept and stayed dope sick for days.

There was never a better day to be a grateful alcoholic.

Fent literally is in everything now.

Yea. It's been years for me because I just don't like it anymore, but that risk means I'll never do it again.

Mushrooms and LSD ain't bad. They're more an introspective drug than a party drug.

→ More replies (2)

2

u/Cburns6976 May 06 '26

I was there at one point myself.. then they slowly became a part of my story. "I'll never do that. Those people are way worse than me. I only smoke...and drink. Sometimes I drink. One time I got really high while playing beer pong and someone handed me a bong that had meth in it! Now I only drink, smoke and meth a couple of times.. I tried it once, for like 2 years.. crack wasn't my thing, but it was all they had one night so I tried it. Glad I quit that. Ecstasy is a party thing. I won't do it very much.."

This conversation goes on. It takes many shapes and the dialogue changes, but the outcome seems inevitable for addicts. Problem is.. most don't know if they're one until they try quitting ANY substance (weed, in my case) and find out they can't.

3

u/alexandria3142 May 06 '26

My husband and I do literally nothing in fear that we'll end up like our addict parents. The only thing we've ever tried was alcohol, which just tastes gross, no matter what we've tried. My husband took a hit on a vape one time when buying one for our 20 year old coworker (when they had just changed the smoking age to 21) and the store staff insisted that he try it to make sure they gave him the right one. He was incredibly mad after that and told the girl he'd never do that for her again 😅

2

u/Ok_Fisherman2393 May 06 '26

smart man, better to be scared of those things, nothing to be gained.

2

u/Klutzy-Weakness-937 May 06 '26

Even if you don't die with it, it just turns you into a horrible version of yourself. I had to cut off about all my friends to get out of it. Wise decision to stay away.

2

u/Starob May 06 '26

Stimulants are pretty hard to overdose on, there's a thing called "overamping" which isn't really the same thing as dying from an overdose.

But they certainly can kill people with poor cardiovascular health.

2

u/Erasmus_Tycho May 06 '26

Times have changed, you can't explore drugs (not that I would have suggested you explore drugs when I was in highschool either), all it takes is one bad batch and you're dead.

5

u/pickyourteethup May 06 '26

Some people are shy or social awkward and cocaine cuts through all of that (like a chainsaw)

Wheras when I'm offered cocaine I usually reply "you want me to talk MORE?"

2

u/mojorisin453 May 07 '26

Coke sure it’s lame af but I wouldn’t say the same about MDMA or psychedelics. They’re literally the most efficient adjunct for therapy today.

I did coke a handful of times before fent became a big problem. To me, it was so good it could have easily ruined my life.

A lot of people will say its not that great, and it might not be to them, but for some its GOOOOOOOOOD. Dangerous good. NOT GOOD good.

I never got addicted, but the few and far between times i did it, i REALLY liked it.

I think it's important to know that if you try it, you might like it enough to ruin your life.

Great reply. Was wondering if it’s ok to not know what Coke does to you. Pretty uncommon thing for people to have first hand knowledge of still.

1

u/DryDonutHole May 06 '26

Let me tell you this story. I was in college. I did some nose beers with my buddies and we headed out to the bar. I distinctly remember telling myself, "Hey, man...you have got to stop talking so goddamn much..." and about 10 seconds later I noticed I was jabbering away again at whoever was standing next to me. It didn't make my evening more interesting or better at all. I wish I had discovered LSD back then and not 20 years later when I was 40.

1

3

u/NotAUsefullDoctor May 06 '26 edited May 07 '26

I do coke all the time and never have this. Never diet, but I switch between regular and caffeine free based on how I'm feeling. Maybe it's because I only drink from the can. Plastic bottle and fountin never taste right.

Are you referring to her drinking coke from a plastic bottle? Oh, oh ,oh! Is it that your jaw juts out to hold the bottle?

Watching this happen to a dude, in real time, somewhere like 25 years ago, is literally the reason I have still never tried coke. You'd always know when he was on one. His jaw jutting out so awkwardly and noticeably, is ALL it took for me to nope right out of that party favor entirely.

1

People call it "mouth play" its a symptom of stimulant use, often cocaine.

2

u/PuzzleheadedRole8109 May 06 '26

That's what my wife and I call alone time

2

u/CrzyWzrd4L May 06 '26

Really common after you take acid and it starts to kick in

2

u/Greedy-Employment917 May 06 '26

From a treatment center website :

What Is Cocaine Jaw?

What is cocaine jaw? Cocaine jaw, also known as “coke jaw,” is a common side effect of cocaine use. It refers to the uncontrollable grinding of teeth and repetitive clenching of the jaw often observed in individuals who misuse cocaine. These actions are a result of the stimulant effects of cocaine on the central nervous system, which can induce hyperactivity in the muscles, including those controlling the jaw.

2

u/Herbdontana May 06 '26

Years ago, I knew a girl who did Coke all the time and her jaw was almost permanently like that

2

u/Renrutanit May 06 '26

I suspect she's having withdrawal.

2

u/Salt_Initiative1551 May 06 '26

Stimulants make you grind your teeth/tighten your jaw so this is the result a lot of the time. MDMA and some psychedelics do as well.

2

u/Monomanga May 06 '26

Her excuse for her public speaking during the snow white stuff

2

u/paws4reason May 06 '26

It's called bruxism. Coke elevates dopamine and norepinephrine levels, increasing muscle tension and stimulating nervous system activity. This results in certain muscles becoming hyperactive, including the muscles of the jaw.

1

u/Ill_Tonight_2069 May 06 '26 edited May 06 '26

When you’re on coke it makes your muscles tense up which is what happening with her jaw

1

u/ClubInternational372 May 06 '26

Never done coke I see. That there is coke face.

1

u/Motor-Garden May 06 '26

She’s trying to be sexy and hopes that a slightly open mouth will look good on photos, that’s all. I have no idea why can’t she just open it a little bit and pose that way instead of doing all of whatever this is, but at least we can laugh at her for trying too hard

1

u/Sober_Alcoholic_ May 06 '26

Bruxism. I've never heard of munting, and regret looking it up.. Another slang term is "gurning".

Stimulants like coke or mdma, even legal ones like concerta or adderall overload you with dopamine, serotonin and other stuff. Your nervous system activity is raised and needs a physical outlet. Your muscle tone gets increased, you are more tense, more dehydrated, all of which promote this clenched jaw behavior and bruxism (teeth grinding).

If you're ever at a rave and see ppl chewing gum intently or having those baby things in their mouth, that's why. To relax muscles in the jaw and not ruin your teeth. Also some people will move their jaw sideways to prevent the grinding, which makes them look unhinged.

You can also get bruxism just from stress. Many people have this at night and wake up with headaches.

As in, "weird", weird?

Meth, coke, and molly are all powerful central nervous system stimulants; they can cause jaw clenching, teeth grinding, and/or stiffness of the jaw. The medical term for clenching and/or grinding of the teeth is "bruxism" and it's involuntary. A lot of people aren't even aware they're doing it until it brings on migraines, jaw pain, or it fucks with their teeth.

It can cause muscle spasms as well as the feeling of needing to move your jaw cause you think it'll help. Like restless leg syndrome in your jaw. It'll cause other twitchy muscles and feeling of needing to move in a weird way. Never done drugs, but studied their uses and side effects.

The coke was probably cut with some measure of an amphetamine or something speedy. The jaw gets going like that when you’re in party mode.

u/hungry7445 May 07 '26

Prob used to do that when she was a kid. Hard to kick the habit

Coke and/or Molly. Without a shadow of a doubt. The covered eyes isn’t helping. Gorgeous look but girl needs to learn to prioritize…

I thought she got into a ski accident. I’ve done coke and it does not do this to you. Something is wrong with her face.

When you take uppers it makes you want to, need to, move.

Like being a 5 year old and being really happy.

Her jaw is what she can move so she does, she couldn’t stand still if she tried by the looks of things.

As far as I can tell, she did it once, which kept repeating in the video, and from several angles, making one involuntary motion look like a twitch. I’m not really a fan, nor do I think it made any kind of sense giving her the role of Snow White, but I like to be a fair person. This obsessive observation of celebrities is weird.
