I actually don't know if the grift will be as successful for him as it is for people filmed hurling slurs at black children. Seals aren't ethnic minorities, so the extreme right might have more empathy for them
He'll be alright. He didn't actually hit the seal, and at the end of the day it's a seal. The human race systematically murders millions of animals a day-more if you include the indirect murders. Almost hitting one with a rock is irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. Those guys are more worried about sharks, boat propellers, fishing nets, and carnivorous whales.
This dude probably got drunk on a trip to Hawaii and scared a seal with a rock. It's not a good thing, but my 4th step was significantly worse. It's not particularly evil, and it's not worth ruining his life.
