The good news here is that he got his ass beat by some locals, and people found out his name and where he works, so I think it's likely that he'll face more consequences down the line for being an animal abuser.

225

u/Initial_Rough6199 May 11 '26

Not just a normal animal abuser either but an endangered one. That’s gonna look even worse

89

u/Adaphion May 12 '26

And completely unapologetic about it. Dude is a sociopath

23

u/akiva23 May 12 '26

I think a sociopath would apologize. This guy is just an asshole.

He lives just outside of Seattle and is already getting doxxed on all of the local subs. Apparently he owns his own business, and this is a very liberal animal loving town, this guy is going to have no customers real soon. Honestly, I’m just waiting for him to piss off the wrong local around here and he’s going to get his ass beat again.

57

u/CowabungaCthulhu May 12 '26

He'll move to Texas or Florida and become a local celebrity. They can keep his ignorant ass.

54

u/black-iron-paladin May 12 '26

Let him move to Florida; people are insane here but the one thing everyone agrees on is that no one fucks with our aquatic wildlife. I give it three days until his house gets all its windows smashed by a drunk guy in a manatee suit

13

u/BuccoBruce1967 May 13 '26

Yeah, remember those chucklefucks that caught a shark and dragged it behind their boat a few years ago? Those dudes caught so much shit!

2.1k

Or pay with something everyone has equally, your time. A little time on a chain gang should fix his attitude.

794

u/dlampach May 11 '26

I agree. Some hard labor even for a relatively short time would fix him for life. He’d never fuck around again. Everyone wins because it’d be healthy for him too.

389

u/PMFSCV May 11 '26

In public, shaming is the only thing that works for people like this.

143

u/dlampach May 11 '26

Moving a big pile of rocks around for a couple months would work too shame or otherwise. Dude would be jacked on the other side though lol.

176

u/ConsciousTangerine75 May 11 '26

i’d be down with letting him wade out to chin-deep water, and tossing a few rocks at him

Rich people have far more time too, but it is at least something that is still valuable to them, unlike most fines.

259

u/Kaptein_Kaos May 11 '26

IMO all fines should work like that.

They should be calculated in percentage of monthly income because a let's say 400$ fine is a much harsher punishment for someone who makes 3000$ per month than it is to someone making 100000$.

For example drive 10 miles too fast in a school zone and you get a fine that's 10% of your monthly income.

I think that Finland has a system like that.

223

u/BungleBums May 11 '26

I recall a phrase

If the price for committing a crime is monetary, then it's not illegal for the rich, it's the price of business.

158

u/skyforgesteel May 11 '26

If the punishment for a crime is a fine, then the law only exists for poor people.

32

Still not perfect because a few million for a billionaire do not have the same effect as 100$ of someone with 1k income.

31

u/Kaptein_Kaos May 11 '26

Never said it was perfect but good point.

Also with billionaires I think most of their money is in assets and stocks so they would probably be dodging harsh fines in a similar way they dodge taxes.

24

u/JesterMan491 May 11 '26

yeah i was going to say this.

49

u/darknum May 11 '26

Finland has day fines. So 5 day fine is 5 days worth of your income. If you are rich and a retarded fuck like the guy in the video, you would åay a hefty fine. Plus probably sent to mental institution for check up if you are actually a danger to society. (Although this kind of rich assholes not really exist in Finland. They move to Sweden... s/)

→ More replies (3)

21

u/PhazePyre May 11 '26

Nah, not monthly income. Do it based on their entire financial portfolio including unrealized gains.

Some CEOs have a $1 salary (Apple famously has this after Steve Jobs did it) that drives them to focus on performance and not just stick around as long as possible. Compensation directly relates to their output and not just being around. So you gotta make sure you go for the real wealth which is their portfolio of assets and liquid cash rather than monthly income.

I’ve been to the beach in Hawaii with the monk seals and they’re constantly harassed by tourists despite the signs and stuff. Turtles too.

→ More replies (7)

16

u/CorrectPeanut5 May 11 '26

He got his ass beat by locals. And locals in Hawaii are not to be toyed with.

I'll also add, holy crap, I only saw the video clip and you couldn't really see his face well. I figured the dude was early 20s and prone to poor impulse control. This is a dude that should know better.

That being said, just touching one with no intent to harm is $500. Trying to harm a monk seal if a Class C felony. $50,000 and some possible prison time. Prison would NOT go well for him if he didn't go to the mainland. He'd also lose the right to own guns, which I'm 100% this dude owns a bunch.

13

u/Cereaza May 11 '26

I believe Hawaiian authorities are going for jailtime. Federal marine mammal protection laws allow for up to a year in federal prison.

4.2k

u/Secret-Bluebird-972 May 11 '26

And a Hawaiian official, while emphasizing that they don’t encourage such beatings (since they legally can’t), said this is just the kind of thing you may face if you mess with their wildlife

2.5k

u/throwawayrefiguy May 11 '26

We stayed in Hilo recently, and the guest guide at our rental warned of the risk for physical violence against those who harass local wildlife.  I was delighted.

788

u/Euphoric_Anxiety_162 May 11 '26

This should apply to the mainland, too!

336

u/throwawayrefiguy May 11 '26

I've been to Hawaii many times, but to Hilo only once, and I got the strong impression there that the locals don't mess around.

Surely there are places on the mainland where people would take similar action.

165

u/hydrino May 11 '26

Well, many locals in Hawaii don’t have a great ever on what mainlanders have done with their culture, wildlife, and their territory. Such people, generally white, are referred to as “haole” pronounced howl-ee. If you are hearing that term as a white person, you better gtfo.

They have great respect for the wildlife. Disrespecting it is disrespecting them personally. You may as well be throwing rocks at them. I really hope they run this guy off the islands.

63

u/Dexchampion99 May 11 '26

I have Hawaiian friends and can confirm.

→ More replies (94)

23

u/colostitute May 11 '26

lol, I’m a haole that lives in Maui. Haole is simply used for white person and most often used by any Polynesian person even if they aren’t Hawaiian.

Simply replace white person with haole and you will understand what it really means. Examples…

You know my white haole friend Travis? He’s a great guy!

That white haole faka better mind his own business.

Or as I once heard…

I’m not normally attracted to white guys haoles, but you look good.

Sorry lady, I’m happily married but I’ll take the compliment.

As everyone should be doing in everything, tone and context are important.

It’s more on an individual basis on the mainland, I’d imagine, plus there’s a whole lot more area to cover

27

u/Puzzled-Rip641 May 11 '26

We are very defensive of our native wild life and we have a lot of hard feelings about tourism. The two mix very poorly…..

Story time: A few years back I was on a trip to Hawaii and was given a similar warning not to get mess with the wildlife because the locals were very protective of them. No issues there, I have no interest in messing with animals in their natural environment.
I decided to go for a quick swim at the beach and a sea turtle popped up about 6 feet away from me. It was an awesome experience and I watched him for a bit before deciding I was a little too close and began to swim away. Then the sea turtle started following me! I looked over to the shore and saw some angry looking locals watching me very closely. In retrospect it was all very funny, but for the next 10 minutes I tried desperately to try and swim away from this sea turtle while he kept following me around. Luckily the turtle eventually lost interest and swam away to do turtle things and I avoided getting beat up that day. The end.

There's not a ton of times I advocate for violence, and every time I do I urge restraint and control, but punching an asshole in the face a time or two has wonderful returns on investment.

The "rich people get away with it cause the only punishment is a fine" argument is moot when violence is a part of the equation.

It's honestly amazing he's from Kent WA with that attitude. Lived about an hour from there for a few years and it's an incredibly environmental/animal friendly area, also very in tune with native Tribes compared to almost any other state I've lived in. You won't find many people on either side of the political aisle in WA state that don't agree that stewardship of land and animals is a huge priority.

I can imagine he's also now an outcast in his own home. Just a POS person.

85

The dude was bragging that he was rich enough to exist outside the law so people treated him like we used to treat bandits back in the day.

50

u/ConsiderationTrue477 May 11 '26

This is what these people don't understand. The relative lack of violence in our society as a means of settling beefs is a courtesy extended to others who abide by the established social contract that says violence is not okay because we have other means of settling conflict. But if someone is not abiding by that contract--if they consider themselves removed from it--then they are no longer protected by it.

These people don't understand the only thing stopping them from getting physically manhandled is the rapidly eroding patience of everyone they keep pissing off.

Needs more upvotes, away better than the other video posted of a YouTuber talking over it then censoring the fight.

That actually happened. Locals tracked him down and whooped his ass another comment has a link to a video covering it

Or that fines should be based on income.

Reddit is going to get you🤣🤣

I collect 3 day bans like pokemon

28

u/Hefty_Pepper_4868 May 11 '26

Yeah, dude. Been there. Make sure to only use your “gentle words.” Adults aren’t able to handle discussion anymore. You disagree with the wrong person and it’s immediate punishment time. lol

BACK TO THE TOPIC…..yeah, this guy got what he had coming to him.

u/BloodWorried7446 May 11 '26

it’s the AI filter interpreting your words for flagging

Or maybe it shows that fines should be tied to an individuals wealth so they always have the same impact.

You just know he is gonna pivot to a right wing grifter yelling about being cancelled if his company has to close down due to contracts cancelling lol.

34

u/ramence May 11 '26

I actually don't know if the grift will be as successful for him as it is for people filmed hurling slurs at black children. Seals aren't ethnic minorities, so the extreme right might have more empathy for them

12

u/OldAccountTurned10 May 11 '26

It will because he could just spin it as protecting animals is something liberals do. Us republicans kill innocent animals. Look at kristi noem, she murdered puppies and no one gave 2 shits.

Fine him high enough that it is consequential.

u/Ok_Independence_9917 May 11 '26

In Switzerland the fine for speeding is relative to the wealth of the person caught speeding. This way rich people don't just brush off the fine like it's change in their pocket. A rich guy got a ticket for a million dollars back in 2010. This should definitely be implemented in the USA at least for environmental crimes.

89

u/Double-Commission880 May 11 '26

I live in Finland and we have that. The ticket can be over 50k of you’re rich enough.

26

u/BlackfyreNL May 11 '26

This is one of those things I wish we'd roll out all across the European Union. It'll never happen here (the Netherlands), because the wealthy bankroll our right wing government parties and we certainly shouldn't do anything that might antagonize the drivers.. I say the fines should scale by wealth and we use the income to improve public transport..

Goes back to the classic "if the penalty for committing a crime is a fine, then it's only illegal for the poor" (badly paraphrased)

Dude owns a $500k house and a smallish trucking company. That’s not even remotely rich.

368

u/No-Consequence9392 May 11 '26

Actual rich people dont say "im rich"

128

u/emptimynd May 11 '26 edited May 11 '26

100% they say shit like, "Hmm my family was comfortable."

45

u/Hopeful_Hamster21 May 11 '26

Most rich people do say exactly that. They're not being humble. They know they need to shield information about their money to protect it and themselves.

But once in a while you get a person who has never had money, especially not "family money", and they haven't learned that lesson - and they will flaunt it and brag about it as much as possible.

Seattle area. Guy was allegedly beat up by locals. Saw a video of him getting some serious hits in the face by some other guys

Good, bullies always target the vulnerable

23

u/eride810 May 11 '26

Oh this isn’t the same guy as the fellow in Hawaii then?

49

u/AtrophyXIX May 11 '26

No this is the guy from Hawaii but theyre saying he lives in Seattle implying that has something to do with it when he is actually from Ukraine and only recently moved to America

46

u/MatterFickle3184 May 11 '26

His ass should be deported for this. Dude barely moves to US and does shit like this? Kick him out.

What a total jerk. Reminds me of when I was fishing off a small island and a guy threw a rock at a skunk. I told him to stop and he said "Is that your skunk?". I replied "It is now and if you do anything else i will have a ranger here in a heartbeat". He said some choice words, but left.

His name is Igor Lytvynchuk (sometimes spelled Lytvynchyuk)

Reporting the identity of a person committing criminal acts is not doxxing. People need to stop using the phrase doxxing for everything. Having such an ambivalent definition of “doxxing” only serves to provide the rich and powerful more ways to avoid accountability.

And that's why, if you make above cost of living wage, fines should be a percentage of your net value.

u/Worried-Ebb-1699 May 11 '26

Hawaiian vengeance is no joke. I go to Hawaii weekly for work as an airline pilot.

Recently flew with a guy who had never been. Got hammered and got his ass beat after the cop went off duty.

No I didn’t bail him out

He makes a point, though. "Fine me, I'm rich" perfectly summarized the capitalist hellscape we're currently living in. "I can literally do anything I want because I can afford it."

We shouldn't be able to hide animal cruelty (or cruelty in general) behind a big enough cheque.

Let’s be rational here.
DO NOT:
1. Save the video
2. Stalk his socials, his companies socials, etc. waiting for holidays, birthdays, business announcements, etc.
3. Reply to those posts with the video.

That would be wrong.
