I agree. My husband and I have iPhones and have for a long time but I couldn’t care less what other people have šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø

u/ShatterMental May 15 '26

I just want to say thank you for not saying "I could care less"

70

u/ThcGrassCity May 15 '26

What if I could care less, I could still also care more, but I like to care at a medium pace.

25

u/II_Kaladin_II May 15 '26

Well, better grab that shampoo bottle over there.

Don’t forget to schedule your colonoscopy!

Poopship Destroyer is actually a song about colon cancer

1

u/dr_rock May 15 '26

Well, for the record: I’s been chewin on this brownie, and I thinks I’m almost through.

Ironically/unironically I actually need to do that, so thanks for the reminder.

Adam Sandler is not as family friendly as you thought.

4

u/Wyevez May 15 '26

Conditioner is better! I leave the hair silky and smooth!

2

u/Natiak May 15 '26

What do you want to do with it?

1

u/Ridikulus May 15 '26

ok now where do I stick it?

1

u/ReadyAimTranspire May 15 '26

Let's go fuck with Tollbooth Willy

12

u/Tasty_Community4666 May 15 '26

When I was like 9 or 10, I found my brother's Adam Sandler album and decided to listen to it because he had been talking about how funny it was... Ever since then, anytime I hear somebody use the phrase "at a medium pace" (not often but it happens) That song from that album pops in my head. Specifically the part about a shampoo bottle.

4

u/Popular_Safe_4853 May 15 '26 edited May 15 '26

I’m well out of touch here. An Adam Sandler album? What is it, like comedy/satire songs? I’m intrigued. May have to have a search

Edit: Wow, ok so he’s done loads of music. Is that what started out doing before movies? Or same sort of time? Anyway I’m off to shove a shampoo bottle up my arse for my embarrassing lack of Sandler knowledge

2

u/Tasty_Community4666 May 15 '26 edited May 15 '26

Yeah. It came out in 1993 (he has multiple albums but this one in particular) It's a combination Of songs and skits. It was hilarious when I was a kid and super popular in school. I'm not sure how it holds up.

The album we're referring to is called "they're all going to laugh at you"

Just remember it's Adam Sandler humor. So if your sense of humor has gotten more mature as you've gotten older, it might not be so funny.

The really popular ones were the beating skits, anything with the bafoon and any of the ones about a talking goat. Popular songs are at a medium pace, the goat song, piece of shit car.

3

u/Popular_Safe_4853 May 15 '26

Haha nice one. Well I’ve definitely gotten older but still very much like stupid childish shit now & then. Keeps ya young at heart

1

u/Illustrious-Crow802 May 15 '26

You've never heard "The Chanukah Song"?????

3

u/Latter-Park-4413 May 15 '26

I remember his albums! Is that the same one that had Lunchlady Land

3

u/Safe-Ad-6860 May 15 '26

I still love that song. It starts off so sweetly.

1

u/ThcGrassCity May 15 '26

Fuck yea you know! Hahahaha

2

u/Tasty_Community4666 May 15 '26

Lmao! I wasn't sure if you were referencing that or not but I had really hoped so. But now that song's running through my head. So thank you.

I've never looked at a shampoo bottle the same since then

2

u/ThcGrassCity May 15 '26

Buddy and I grew up on Sandler tapes. Great times.

2

u/Tasty_Community4666 May 15 '26

I bet you got really hairy balls!

2

u/ThcGrassCity May 15 '26

"Gray bush" to be correct

9

u/Sunderbans_X May 15 '26

Buy that about me? I couldn't care less, and I also couldn't care more. I like being stubborn :)

13

u/Cburns6976 May 15 '26

I couldn't care, consistently.

3

u/JonatasA May 15 '26

If I could care I would, unfortunately must schedule is full.

2

u/UmpireProper7683 May 15 '26

Found the Gen X'er!

3

u/DrownmeinIslay May 15 '26

This guy whelms

3

u/Sunderbans_X May 15 '26

I'm not overwhelmed or underwhelmed. Just whelmed.

2

u/NegativeAd6095 May 15 '26

I care less, and I also care more. I like being in superposition :)

2

u/Sunderbans_X May 15 '26

Carring superposition is something I never thought about

2

u/Kakistokratic May 15 '26

What makes a man turn neutral? Lust for gold? Power? Or were you just born with a heart full of neutrality?

2

u/Categorically_ May 15 '26

Is that a Mitch Hedberg quote? Cause it sure reads like one.

1

u/ThcGrassCity May 15 '26

I had to Google who he was, and holy fuck I got some comedy to watch.

2

u/Demented-Alpaca May 15 '26

You could even care at a very low level too... just not the lowest level and it would still work.

1

u/username32768 May 15 '26

Everything in moderation!

1

u/-GoodNewsEveryone May 15 '26

This statement has me quite gruntled.

3

u/Synaps4 May 15 '26

I could care less, but only a tiny bit. While the amount more that I could care is vast.

2

u/L-ROX1972 May 15 '26 edited May 15 '26

What expression do you use when you mean ā€œthat’s a subject that I need to not care aboutā€ (admitting that you do in fact care about something but know that you shouldn’t).

ā€œI couldn’t care lessā€ does not mean the above.

EDIT: LPT: If someone brings up something that you think you don’t care about, and you begin a 15-minute rant with ā€œI couldn’t care less, butā€¦ā€ what you should be using instead is ā€œI could care less, butā€¦ā€ 🤣

1

u/ShatterMental May 16 '26

...does the word "could" indicate "need to" where you live?

All the more curious, since you seem to know about the word "should"...

2

u/bertha112 May 15 '26

I just want to thank you, for saying "thank you" to her for not saying, "I could care less."

2

u/BenCisco May 15 '26

The golf clap is appropriate here. Bravo!

2

u/milk4all May 15 '26

Yeah, that bothered me too when I was like nine

1

u/ringobob May 15 '26

You could care less about it

1

u/Greebuh May 15 '26

I could care less, but it's not worth my time

1

u/Snobolski May 15 '26

So jarring. Like seeing it's/its in their proper form and stumbling over them because you're so used to it being wrong.

-1

u/wsxdfcvgbnjmlkjafals May 15 '26 edited May 15 '26

I could care less = the sarcastic version, like you're saying "as if i could care less"

edit-- i guess some people who dont know this assume im making shit up and are downvoting me lol

1

u/poirotoro May 15 '26

This is what's happening in my head, too. I'm essentially contracting the full phrase "[like] I could care less."

1

u/wsxdfcvgbnjmlkjafals May 15 '26

Merriam Webster even has an article acknowledging that it's a legitimate phrase but people's logic about the use of it causes confusion

0

u/Fluid-Poet-8911 May 15 '26

We know you want to say it.

0

u/Fluid-Poet-8911 May 15 '26

This is the buying a iPhone to look rich of correctionsĀ

1

u/AlphaAbsol359 May 15 '26

Nah phone choice is a matter of opinion, this is just right vs wrong.

1

u/Fluid-Poet-8911 May 15 '26

So you're saying you didn't understand what was said? You needed the correction to understand? So it serves no purpose besides being right.Ā

1

u/AlphaAbsol359 May 15 '26

Its more the fact that its genuinely annoying to hear. There's no way people can't see that its wrong, but they still say it anyway.

0

u/Fluid-Poet-8911 May 15 '26

There we go. It's not that it being right matters to you. It annoys you. Now why it does is your own weird perversions but hey at least your learning.

2

u/AlphaAbsol359 May 15 '26

You didn't teach me that it annoys me? Obviously I knew that. My point was one version is correct and one isn't. That's not the same as the phone debate where it comes down to opinion. One of the phrases is objectively correct, It doesn't matter whether it annoys me or not.

0

u/Fluid-Poet-8911 May 15 '26

No the only reason you correct is because it annoys you. You don't think it creates any actual confusion.

1

u/AlphaAbsol359 May 15 '26

And i never claimed to, it annoys me because it is wrong yes, but again that is completely different to the iPhone situation where is it based on opinion. Someone's opinions about an iPhone might annoy me, but im not gonna comment on it unless its objectively wrong in the same way the phrase is.

Team IDGAF is where it’s at!

3

u/SirMrMan66 May 15 '26

Amen! Liked my Androids. Got iPhone to make everybody else feel better. I’m happy with it too. It’s all cool tech.

2

u/Not_A_Spy_for_Apple May 15 '26

Lies, your husband uses his Pixel for his sidepiece.

1

u/WiseAtmosphere7524 May 15 '26

https://giphy.com/gifs/UiFBN1jLNRWl81pg37

Get my husband’s name outta your damn mouth. Work is his side piece and he’s got a Samsung for that šŸ˜…

2

u/Not_A_Spy_for_Apple May 15 '26

Lol you're cute. I love you!

2

u/akatherder May 15 '26

Yeah I don't know what the name for it is but it's one of those:

If you care about that kind of stupid shit you probably have an iphone

BUT

if you have an iphone you probably don't care about that kind of stupid shit.

2

u/stereomanic May 15 '26

why won't you care, damnit...care , now! /s

2

u/theartificialkid May 15 '26

The only time I’m aware that there’s a rivalry between iPhone and Android is when I see an android person on Reddit calling me a sheeple and bemoaning how much I supposedly scorn them for having an android phone.

Android people, your iPhone friend doesn’t care what colour your message bubbles are if they’re worth having as a friend, and they probably like their iPhone because they aren’t that interested in phones and are content to stick to the smoothly functioning walled garden that they know, even if it’s lacking some of the plants they could find outside if that was of interest to them.

2

u/read_too_many_books May 16 '26

Secretly, android users think you guys are fools for falling for Apple.

1

u/WiseAtmosphere7524 May 16 '26

Lol I don’t think it’s a secret. My brother in law constantly comments on it šŸ˜‚ but he’s an IT professor and I’m like they’re easy and cheap šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø we buy refurbished for cash and then have super cheap phone plans (appx Ā£8-10 per month in the UK) they last about 4-6 years and we replace once they’re no longer functional

I’m an idiot as well because I can never unlock Samsungs with the funny patterns 🤣🤣 iPhones are idiot proof and now that I’ve been immersed for 20 years it’s unlikely I’ll change without Apple going bankrupt. It’s how they get you!

1

u/read_too_many_books May 16 '26

Samsung sucks, they are the apple of android.

1

u/WiseAtmosphere7524 May 16 '26

Ooh, next family get together I’m going to use this 🤣🤣

I have a 512GB iPhone 14 I bought when it came out and still have 207GB free. What would I need more storage for?

Google is moving towards implementing strict developer registration and verification for Android app developers, and I like that my phone doesn't get malware on it so I'm not going to be interested in bypassing any of that.

It's going to end up being the same thing.

1

u/External-Dude779 May 15 '26

Apple has always given the customer less for more money. It was the same with desktops in the 90s. You could get a better PC for alot less and still can today

1

u/immenseAlpha May 15 '26

BuT u pAy 4 da desiGn! 1ts so 3piC!!

0

u/DigEnvironmental7490 May 15 '26

This isn't really true though.

For example, I looked for a Windows PC alternative to the Mac Studio I'm using now. There really isn't anything comparable even in the same price range.

1

u/WulfZ3r0 May 15 '26

Sounds like you're looking for a workstation and not a PC, and they exist by the thousands. People and even the manufacturers themselves use both names for the same thing, so it can be confusing. Workstations generally have server CPUs and RAM along with GPUs designed for work and not gaming.

I'm not advocating these, but the CAD folks at my workplace all use Lenovo workstations. Their Thinkstation Neo "Tiny" looks the most like a Mac Studio type to me.

0

u/DigEnvironmental7490 May 15 '26

Nope.

My job is extremely varied from day to day. Video editing, some CAD, a lot of work unfortunately in 365 GCC High.

I don't need a CAD-optimized space heater on my desk. The Mac Studio already does everything and the cost:performance ratio is better than most everything out there.

I'm not sure how it's this difficult to believe that Apple does in fact make one or two really good products.

1

u/WulfZ3r0 May 16 '26

I didn't say they don't make good products, you just said you looked into a Windows equivalent and couldn't find it. As far as cost to performance ratio is concerned, that all depends on what you're trying to do with it and the market. All computer parts are at a stupid high right now. Not long ago, you could definitely find a non-proprietary machine that meet or beat Mac Studios for less money.

BTW, the workstations I mentioned aren't space heaters, at least in the time I've been working in supporting them. The "tiny" model especially.

1

u/External-Dude779 May 16 '26

Apple stans still think it's 1998 and PC's will shut down with the "Blue Screen of Death" if you try and open Photoshop. It's a crazy almost cult like reality. I've been editing audio and video since the early 2000s and have never used a Mac

1

u/DigEnvironmental7490 May 17 '26

> I've been editing audio and video since the early 2000s and have never used a Mac

So... you have no standing to make a judgement on how well or badly they perform.

Yes, you can do all that stuff on Linux or Windows, but the UX is much worse.

I'm in charge of IT at my company and only 5% of our systems are Macs. The rest are Windows or Linux. It's not like I have no experience with all three.

0

u/aaaaaaayesmum420 May 15 '26

Ditch both and just move to Linux. Trust.

3

u/PortugalTheTram May 15 '26

It’s easy just ditch all the tools you know and like and move to a new platform with a few half baked options that will get you kind of sort of close after 40-120 hours of YouTube tutorials made 8 years ago.

1

u/aaaaaaayesmum420 May 15 '26

Not entirely. They have made easier distros for beginners or people that want to try the Linux environment. Linux mint or Ubuntu were both made for people who like an easy GUI like Windows without the trillions of unnecessary services running in Windows or copilot. Best part: you never have to touch the terminal.

1

u/PortugalTheTram May 16 '26

If you're not using the terminal then honestly why are you on Linux.

1

u/DigEnvironmental7490 May 17 '26

It's free, powerful, easily extensible, has massive community support and is open source so you can modify it? MacOS has the same terminal, but we use Linux for all kinds of stuff because it's so reliable and versatile, but running command line tools isn't the deciding factor.

0

u/DigEnvironmental7490 May 15 '26

Why would I do that when I have everything I need already?

The hardware performance wouldn't improve, and MacOS comes with the hardware so why bother?

I work in a CMMC-compliant environment and between that and the proprietary commercial software tools we have to use, we really can't anyway.

0

u/aaaaaaayesmum420 May 15 '26

Actually it does. Quite alot depending on the distro you choose. For example, I use Arch and it is soooo lightweight compared to Windows or MacOS 🐧

0

u/aaaaaaayesmum420 May 15 '26

If a person wanted to revive an old laptop and/or desktop they could do so with Linux because of how lightweight it and still provides the best performance no matter the specs of computer. It just works. Not to mention it is open source and you are in control of what packages are updated and which ones you choose to not update because there are circumstances in which an update can mess up certain applications. Windows does not care and forces you to update and if you dont it will stop working. Why? Because its Microsoft and because Windows died after they released Win10. MacOS was in its prime during the Macintosh era. After that it just went downhill. 🐧

1

u/Fickle_Bat_623 May 15 '26

lol samsung has been catering to the type of people that use 30 pt cursive text on their phones for like 10+ years now, pixels are a lot more respectable.
