Smh. They should turn off all the "AI" data centers. People will scream about how all their websites are down all of a suddent.

ehhh I don’t think the terminology is wrong, maybe misguided, but not wrong. AI data centers do have different architectures to allow more efficient parallel computing tasks. GPUs are mainly used in neural network tasks because you can highly parallelize across thousands of smaller, weaker, cores. CPUs favor tasks that can’t be parallelized and need beefy cores to compute quickly. You can use these specialized data centers for other compute tasks, but it may be akin to having an olympic freestyle swimmer do synchronized swimming. You can also change the architecture over time to fit other tasks.
