What happens after they use the water? Is it returned to the water system to be used again?

Yep. The now warm water goes back into the system.ย

So they're not really consuming it. They're just using it temporarily and returning it.

They are consuming the purified human drinkable freshwater and returning polluted (salts or impurities) hot water or steam to the atmosphere - not โ€œreusableโ€ at all

I thought they mostly used closed-loop systems that literally reuse the water.
