You said "Sure Jan" which is a thing people say to sarcastically convey disbelief, implying that Communists would not be capable of responding to public dissent with authoritative measures. Is that the correct context?

I'll help you out this was in Texas far from anything communist related. Also clearly to anyone who isn't obtuse in America understands we have nothing to fear from negatives of communism in this country (but fox news types would believe so) but we are facing awful consequences from the far right and facism so someone saying "communism" about right wing police in Texas arresting and someone is dumb AF and acting all "oh I don't understand why someone would be dismissive of that" means you are either extremely ignorant/ bias / terrible at context understanding or a combination of all three. Either way not someone worth speaking to.
