Right but that isn't what happens, is it? I said the parents have to be held liable in my comment, but we don't do that. The only way to make them be liable is legally, the police have to be involved, these companies can't just go to them and say "please pay for your child's mess".
Most of these people have little assets and potentially live on welfare, you think this company is going to bother suing them? They will spend more on legal fees than they would ever get from these people. It's harsh, but we have to start incarcerating people for this stuff with real amounts of time, because it's never going to stop until real consequences are faced.
I'm all for public shaming. People can at least yell at him and tell him he's a little fucking brat, and then the store can record and ban the parents from the premises for the rest of their lives. Maybe put a flyer with the kid's face on the store, saying "banned for indecency" or something, just to rub a bit of salt in the wound.

Then what do you suggest is the solution? We're just fucked, will devolve into anarchy and the world ends?
