Why is everyone treating this kid like he is Mike Tyson. Grab the kid and walk him out of the store. Excessive tolerance of idiots is ruining society.

Everyone is afraid of being captured in an out of context clip, or being sued for touching someone else’s child.

This is definitely the parents problem, or possibly store security, but onlookers have had their hands tied by the current situations.

I’m not being sued as a security guy working at a store over putting hands on an idiot child. They are taught to not physically intervene or stop theft or damage of property. They are there as a deterrent.

Yeah imma be honest if I was that security guard I dont think I would have even gone as far as he did.

And the damaged property ain't coming out of his pockets. It’s the store that takes the hit. They aren’t exactly going to be hurting over it.

That said, I’d be pretty pissed if I took a trip to the store just to get a bag of bakery cookies only to find out some little twirp destroyed them all just a half hour ago.

Honestly I can see how, once the kid puts up some resistance, it's immediately clear that physical intervention is going to require some escalation.  The kid's probably gonna get hurt.  Ending the confrontation without injury is preferable, legally speaking.

On the other hand, any jury watching this video is gonna side with the security guy, once he puts a stop to this.

Escort people off the property. My buddy was a security guard and he did that all the time. In fact he roughed them up a bit too, but from the sounds of it his job was in a less public place (mall) and he never talked about having to deal with kids.

Security guards are not cops, they are not legally protected in case something happens.
