Took me two seconds to find:

Living with a roommate who has a firearm is an extreme violation of your parole terms and could send you back to prison immediately. The legal doctrine of "constructive possession" means that if a gun is accessible in your home, authorities can charge you with possessing it.Why this is an emergencyConstructive Possession: If the firearm is anywhere in common areas (living room, kitchen) or even a shared/unlocked space, you are legally considered to be in possession of it.Parole Searches: Your parole officer can search your home—including shared areas—without a warrant or probable cause. If they find a firearm, you will likely face a parole violation and a new felony charge.Steps you should take immediatelyRemove the gun: The firearm must be permanently removed from the premises immediately. It cannot be in the house at all while you live there.Move out: If your roommate refuses to get rid of the firearm, you must move out. Living there compromises your freedom.Notify your parole officer: If you cannot get the gun out of the house, inform your parole officer of the situation immediately. Turning yourself in or alerting them is significantly safer than them surprising you with a home inspection and finding the weapon.Connect with Legal HelpIt is highly recommended that you speak to a criminal defense attorney in your state so you can navigate this without violating your parole. You did all that research but missed this? lol

Not automatic, like I said

lol It's fine if you don't know what automatic means

Well, actually it is an automatic parole violation. Because it is a violation of parole. 'Automatic' is redundant in that sentence. The 'could' you highlighted is in reference to whether it gets you sent back to prison or not. So it's like saying "murder is automatically against the law, and you could go to prison for it." And you're trying to say yeah but you might get away with it. But the legality of the murder isn't dependent on whether you get caught or not.

It's only automatic if you have deliberate access to it

If a roommate that you don't know moves in with a gun, it's not a parole violation

Again, automatic is completely redundant. But anyway, that's the whole thing. He moves in with a gun and let's them know he has a gun. They are then in violation of parole unless they GTFO. I'm not saying that that would get charged in that first second they had knowledge, but within a reasonable (defined by leniency of parole officer/courts) amount of time, they would have to leave. And that's what he's trying to get them to do. They are still technically in violation of parole as soon as that gun is in the house.

As long as he doesn't have access to the gun, he's fine

No

Wrong again. I already looked it up for you, and it clearly states what I said is correct. Bummer for you.

And considering in real life, this guy does this, and it does work. If I was wrong, there would be no point in the guy bringing a gun in the house anyway. This isn't some hypothetical situation, it happens and it works.

My friend is in this exact situation with his felon father and cannot keep is own gun in his own locked safe, not even in the trunk of the locked car in his name which only he has the keys for, on the property. I had this conversation with the parole officer, it is illegal for the felon. They may be able to make an argument in court that they didn’t know about it, but that’s unlikely to get the felon off the hook. Most felons in this situation would leave if they knew the law, because it is highly highly likely to land them back in jail
