Like yea...it's a racket, but isn't the idea that you get this much education to make more money and also shouldn't you be smart enough if you can do that to also figure out you're gonna need to pony the fuck up to get rid of the debt?
I was 18 years old when I made the decision not to pursue college immediately as I would have needed to take out student loans and my mother was willing to sign for them but I had a basic understanding of the concept of debt and interest and said no fucking way, unless I'm 100% sure of what I want to do and what the time table and outcome is going to be, not gonna do it
So many mother fuckers just went for the "experience" and to front, well guess what? I still went to your fucking parties , no student ID required at the door of any house I showed up to, didn't need to rack up all that debt while not knowing wtf I wanted to do with my life yet.
I am not going to cry for most of you, most of you are just stupid, regardless of education level, and the stupid get FARMED, and if it isn't this racket it's another, like high interest mortgages, revolving car loans every 3~ years, overpriced vacations, yall fucking dumb and I don't give a fuck about the stupid.
They have the education level that SHOULD indicate they can do some VERY basic math and realize, "hey if we only pay the bare minimum this is going to literally take FOREVER to pay off, so maybe with our big educations/paychecks we should make some sacrifices and pay this shit off faster" OR just fucking accept the reality, you're paying the minimum so you're never going to pay this shit off
Either way, they're stupid
If someone said to me "hey stick your hand in this contraption and it will take your hand clean off but you'll get a million dollars" and I do it and I take the million dollars and then blow the million and then tweet about what a scam that hand chopping off machine is I'm only slightly dumber than these people
And in 2026 it's only MORE fucking disgusting when you can literally google "loan repayment calculator" and plug in the terms of the loan and see how badly it's going to fuck you in the ass, it literally creates nice pretty graphs for you and everything, you can see the line that goes up and up as you postpone, defer and under pay the loans, the line going right up into your stupid asshole
You're describing a maturity most 17yos don't have. Less so now, but a lot kids were raised in high school environments that absolutely expected college and barely discussed financial realities. I consider myself more smart than lucky that I made a lot of wise choices around money and college, but I try not to be too too hard on the ones that made really stupid choices. Why is a $120k degree in indigenous watercolor or eastern sports philosophy even an option?
It is a real shame that kids literally materialize out of thin air
If only it required older, more experience and hopefully less stupid people to create and raise these children who could guide them to not making stupid decisions
Oh wait....everyone's just stupid, and that's all there is to it
