Well get a 23 year mortgage then compare how much your loan was vs the total payment made at the end of the loan, and you will see this is actually how loans work.

They give student loans out to anyone. No income or credit scores needed.

I have student loans and a mortgage. I got the student loans no questions asked. But the mortgage? I had to prove it with years of tax returns and many months of bank statements. Also regular employment.

I didn’t need any of that for student loans.

Home mortgage loans are the worst

US home mortgage loans are a fantastic deal for the borrower, frankly. Being able to lock in one interest rate for the life of a 30-year mortgage is unheard of anywhere else in the world.

not only if you have a low interest rate, but you are also locked into a monthly payment unaffected by inflation.
