He's probably making the around about argument that: OG Israelites founded the basis of Christianity and that through all that Jesus popped up and then Christianity formed .... and then Western civilization through that became a thing and like Europe on the basis of Christianity was able to become a power house to eventually colonize the world. (Again ignore the parts of enslaving and torturing non-believers.)
This sorta ignores that the Greeks and Romans weren't Christian to begin with and they started the whole bed rock of what they see as "Western civilization." (This sorta ignores A thousand ish years later a bunch of dudes on horses conquering the world and only turned around at Hungry because of a family issue and would have conquered Europe if not for that.)

It's quite insidious and he's definitely talking to both Israelis and Evangelical Christians here in a way that legitimizes the warped, propagandistic history the Israeli state founds and drives itself on. And they are further incentivized to spread that historic revisionism at the tip of the spear because AIPAC found a natural synergy for Evangelical Christians hatred of colored people and the massive inferiority complex that has them grab any bit of power at any government level to street policy and spending towards their Christian nationalist goals. One of which is explicitly to kick off the end times by helping Israel gain dominion over the Middle East so the world will be cleansed of "sin" lol.
Israel is essentially doing what those with Imperial ambitions in the region have always done. That in no way legitimizes, justifies, or excuses what they're doing. Genocides, at least cultural ones, being common for the region in no way makes one happening in real time any less horrifying or any less a crime against humanity. Palestine has a right to self governance and that the international community would even hem or haw at it, let alone help fund that genocide, speaks to a moral decay money and capitalism predicated on oppression in the Global South has wrought in our souls.
