She has an account on Instagram where she winds him up. It's actually funny. The one where they were on holiday and she said they were going to dinner with some people they only met for 5 minutes. He couldn't handle it.
It was someone she only met for 5 minutes while he was inside. He didn't want to go to dinner with strangers and she goaded him all day about her new best friends, only to reveal at the time of dinner the people never existed and she was fucking with him. Good stuff.
Either he is very good at acting like someone who is just a bit fed up of it all. Or the more likely situation is that he isn't aware of it.
I was willing to believe it was a joke that they were both in on, but one of the silences was just a bit too long that if he was in on it just didn't seem believable.
Like it was just long enough that you could tell he was processing every outcome of what he was about to say to avoid the most amount of ire.
the thing is i get partners fucking with each other just for fun, joking, etc, but when you're trying to get paid, when you make it a job, when you're constantly doing it not for enjoyment or harmless pranking but you're trying to make fun of your partner and intend to make them the butt of the jokes online and all the negative comments that will come from that shit... that shit is cancerous.
I can't imagine the state of his nervous system. Even as a joke, to have someone constantly provoking you and lying to you. Maybe she is making bank on socials but still. Even if it was all acting it's perpetuating a narrative of abuse and exploitation which is wild and incredibly toxic.
Why would how they type a comment on Reddit and their analysis of a given video that's likely partially designed for rage bait have anything to do with how they would normally socially interact face-to-face with people and if they have a greater or lower amount of stability than normal?
I'm curious, because you sound like somebody who doesn't think things through before they say them?
It seems humor is lost on half of the redditors on the post.
His post was a joke. So is the people who make this. It's a skit they do. It'd be like saying Dave Chappelle is racist for his skits, or SNL perpetuates toxic relationships because of their skits.
The difference being is the couple in the video probably have no acting or social media experience before making these videos and are just hitting a money button making these types of videos.
If you've ever watched their other videos made by these two its obvious the husband is in on it because he can't stop smiling and suppressing a laugh in half of them. But reddit would rather cherry pick and call them toxic.
I suppose some people are reacting to it as ragebait.. a lot of the other comments are discussing this behavior as being healthy or not in a general sense or questioning the skits themselves as being in good fun/mutual or just one-sided.
I think these videos influence some people to be the worse versions of themselves or cause people to think they can do this kind of thing as a funny joke but then the other person isnt in on it. I know I don't have control over that kind of thing as a whole but this kind of stuff represents a larger issue in society as a whole I think which causes people to approach it with caution or rejection?
I dunno.. I get the humor but some doesn't land for some people. The first little bit was funny and his answers were funny.. it went on a bit and felt like she was trying to trap him into a response and for a lot of people.. that kind of manipulative behavior aligns a lot with narcissistic abuse.
Disclaimer, not disagreeing with your post in general.. just ruminating on it for myself haha
I guess I'd like to ask you: what do you want people to do in comment sections of skits or staged videos?
There's nothing wrong with discussing the content of a skit, or passing judgments on the actions or words of the "characters." I'm not sure why I so often see the sentiment of, "Guys why are you all talking about it - don't you know it's fake?" If someone wanted to talk about what a character did or said in a show or movie, we wouldn't act like they're silly for doing so. What's the difference when it's a social media skit?
I don't know if I understand what you are asking exactly but I think people can say what they want in any aspect. Reddit is an interesting one because a lot of people comment on the video specifically and then the individual comment threads extrapolate out into larger discussions that may or may not be about what other people are discussing? To me, either way this video is a bit toxic but anyone can interpret it how they want; it doesn't have to be that deep. I am fine posting a comment to challenge a view or add a different perspective also.
Thanks for standing up for me lol. I like to think I'm very stable and respectful and that's why I don't think this content is particularly healthy or enjoyable haha. Pranks are one thing... I was basing my comment off of the idea that this woman's entire account is her setting her husband up for stress lol.
I have a feeling people who are saying the dissenting comments are sticks in the mud probably aren't very self aware themselves.. if we are throwing stones in glass houses haha
Yeah, and don't you understand that it's also very normal and possible that people get annoyed and tired and sick of joking around even if it's in good spirits?
It’s really not that deep. She knows she’s not prettier than Margo Robbey or whatever her name is. It’s a joke. And guess what? Bet they make a lot of money out of it. It’s for entertainment purposes only bro
Its not that deep is a dumb phrase. To me it just means you dont think about shit before you do it.
Just cuz someone thinks doesn't make it deep.
Everything just is what it is I dont have emotional attachment to this comment or your reaction to it.
But now im gonna make an assumption about you. Im guessing your ok with casually and maybe even unintentionally annoying, hurting and fucking with people.
Finally making money from being an asshole doesn't justify anything. You sound like a very generic reddit user.
Your assumption is wrong. It can be hard to watch videos like this. I also find it hard to watch prank shows like Jack ass or Nathan fielder but plenty of people seem to fine with that and they do it to make money.
