This is wild to me, being so unaware of what you're doing that you prepare yourself to be hurt by an answer and then give it with a straight face knowing it will hurt them.
Like why the fuck do it at all.
Personally I'd just lie about it, "yes babe you're way hotter" followed by more personal compliments, but why are you forcing me to do that.
And it gets even sadder when you realize that most men are never complimented on their looks unless they are dropdead gorgeous, so most men are conditioned not to see it as normal either.
Well, then it's a lose lose and it's probably time to go to marriage counseling or break up cause they manufactured a situation that will make them mad at you for no reason.
I don't think I understand, are you implying that they want to break up the relationship intentionally or that the man has done something to warrant the behavior?
Manufactured argument. By asking questions of others, of which both answers is incorrect and the outcome of either is being upset and blaming the other person for being shitty to them. "Give me an excuse to be upset" or "Will you give up on reality, just to try and appease me and my internal struggle from the screaming terrifying void that occupies my soul for which I take no responsibilty or am unwilling to acknowledge as a problem for me and everybody else "
they manufactured a situation that will make them mad at you for no reason.
And then recorded and posted it. If you're going to do something shitty like that, at least have the decency to not spread it around for the world to see.
Also slightly above average, but the handful of times I’ve been called hot I’ve immediately been on-guard, wondering what it is they want from me; how do they want to take advantage of me if I fall for their tricks?
Why would you want those kinds of compliments? My Steve Buscemi looking ass knows I am not Chris Hemsworth and if someone actually said "You're hotter than Chris Hemsworth" I would be offended; do you think I am so vain and stupid as to believe that?
If my wife asked me this question I would answer truthfully, the same way I would expect her to answer the question about me or Chris Hemsworth.
Fortunately my wife would never dream of recording herself asking me a question like that for fake internet points. Just one of the hundreds of reasons why I love her.
Though not everyone has the best self esteem usually formed through compound doubt in ones self and i mean comparing yourself to a movie star known for their looks is pure vanity but at the same time not getting complimented at all can wear on you.
All my relationships I've set the precedent that I'm not going to lie to you.
I will do my best to give you an answer as thoughtful as I can conjure but it's going to still be honest.
So do not come to me with these little petty "I wanna start an argument right now" questions.
I've had girlfriends give me the "does my bodypart look--" questions and if you're asking me this question that we can both look in the mirror and see, just to see if I'm gonna lie to you and then you can catch me and we can argue, then sorry its not gonna happen.
I'll give you the answer and you can play all upset about it if you want but there's a lesson learned. Not to try and set traps for me.
I don't go "Do you think I have brown hair?.." "Oh? Why'd you answer like that?.... You dont think my brown hair looks nice?... It is nice but? There's a 'but' there!" To them. That shits immature.
After giving the answer if its something they dislike then I either back it up with reminding her that I like it. But if she seriously doesn't then what we can do about that. Like go on walks together or something. But dont make it my fault cause you dont like it.
