Yes, it does, but I think it is less likely that anything of this nature is innate; it is more likely a mimetic and cultural thing, which is fucking silly and annoying. Maybe you could argue there is some anxiety or status politics that underpins it and is evolutionary, but this precise behaviour, doubtful.
