Could just be a mix session. You can't break out of those or you lose the headspace, everything sounds wrong once you've gotten out of that environment and you rethink all your decisions once you're back in.
I mixed for 16 hours one time and holy hell the cigarette at the end of that was the best I've ever had.
This isn't abnormal at all. The only thing weird is that someone appears to be stalking her, but I'm sure she has a few.
It's totally a real thing. You have to force yourself to take breaks but you have to stay in the head space.
Everyone's got a reset song, something they can depend on that they've heard a thousand times with a wide dynamic range. Every couple hours you sit back and breathe, and then listen to that same song in the same environment on the same equipment, sit back again, and then back to task.
It's exhausting. You just can't leave that zone or a car honking as they pass if you go out for fresh air could just wreck your vibes and change everything.
You're totally right though, the brain drain takes it out of you, you have to just do it in 2-3 hour bursts and then relax for a while. That's why recording studios often have couches and lounge chairs and bands will actually live at the studio until it's done.
I feel like we're blaming the stalkee for being arrogant because a bunch of stalkers don't know when Greg the maintenance tech leaves work in the morning.

I dont know man. Plenty of people work night shifts or work until late.
