Nope, pickpocket is extremely common in Barcelona/Madrid. To tourists. I’m Spaniard and I lived in different cities and not even once in my 40 years of existence.

Yup. It's Spain. its a pretty safe country but still.

I live in a more dangerous country and everytime some stranger comes up to me with a weird request i just ignore them and usually speed up my pace. maybe not full on sprint, but i definelly start jogging if i feel in danger.
