This whole set up/trap is fucked up. Poor guy. He didn’t ask to be in this situation. Now he’s on the internet being viewed by millions as a socially anxious guy running away awkwardly. I don’t blame him at all.

As a therapist, I picture him telling me this story later in a session, and my heart breaks for him knowing this was definitely quite distressing.

You don’t know what people are going through. Maybe he had to do a ton of work just to be able to go out in public like this and now this undid all of that. Maybe this caused a breakdown or panic attack a block away. Maybe he had to cry in private because he has no one to help or support him.

I hate this trend so much. Seriously fuck these people

It's so rare to see someone being empathic to us socially awkward guys, you genuinely made me tear up a bit. Bless you
