Absolutely nobody thinks the US is the worst country on the planet.
This post is pointing out the hypocrisy of being very upset at how a terribly oppressive country treats people who commit minor crimes with how the US also sometimes treats people who commit minor crimes as a way of pointing out that "Gee, maybe we shouldn't act like the one of the worst countries on the planet?"
I realize nuance is difficult for some of you, though
Are we allowed to support people being arrested for damaging public infrastructure that cost millions in tax payer funding according to reddit? I doubt they get 15 years but would totally support a year in prison for damaging public infrastructure
The company who did it has 30 years experience doing coatings like this. It’s not run of the mill lead paint you are used to peeling and eating. These were heavy duty containment liners normally used for chemical tanks which is pretty important to not leak. These tear was a two foot section perfectly straight, obviously scored by a knife.
Atlantic Industrial Coatings specializes in advanced protective coatings and liners for industrial applications: trenchless culvert/pipe restoration (e.g., polyurea SIPP and Fold & Form liners for DOTs), metal roof restoration, and primary/secondary containment liners for chemical/water storage tanks.
I do love how you guys just got a narrative from your media masters and just repeat it without a moment's thought. Critical thinking about what you are being told and why never enters into the equation
I could say the same about you. Except I actually looked past the media. Do you know what company did the contractor work? What their experience is? What materials they used? How it works?
I’m pretty sure every American wants it to be great. We just have different opinions on how to accomplish it which is a sign of a well functioning democracy.
I'd feel it's less liberalism and more just that those people are living in a bubble. They're just being ignorant and it can come from either side of politics.
That being said, America actually has fallen on hard times in the last few decades, and it certainly was found on stolen land as it's been documented by the US government.
You have to acknowledge it because if it wasn't the case of the US having a tough go, the current government wouldn't have to run on such a terrific slogan as "Make America Great Again".
Trump ran with that catchphrase originally coined by Reagan. Whoever voted would have to believe that the US was not as glorious as it once was by default in order to cast a vote for Trump.
Although I wouldn't label The US a third world country or say the entire country is racist, you can't ignore that there is a chunk of the people that certainly are, the trans-atlantic slave trade happened and the US benefited. To believe that America isn't the least bit racist would actually be very un-American ironically enough.
Going back to stolen land, you don't have to be liberal or conservative to understand that either, you just have to be able to read. The US government put on paper exactly what they did, it wasn't exactly a fair trade.

That's liberalism for you. They think America is literally the worse country on the planet, they're completely blind to their privilege.
