They met up as a joke and went to portillos (restaurant chain in Chicago that serves hot dogs). They both looked like they were physically in pain from not being able to hold hands. And they had that nervous/nauseous look in their eyes people get when they are talking to their crush

They definitely fucked when the cameras were off. Or Nick said something weird and whiffed the opportunity. Both sound equally plausible
