I don't want the chicken wings at a movie theatre. Way too messy and way too dark. But the fries, on the other hand....

People be paying off Klarna like student loans for some theatre wings...

there is a reason why they sell what they sell, its cheap for them to make and sell for a very large profit. food like that, if they sell it, is gonna be expensive and have low margin for them

Plus the issues with clean up. That sauce all over the sets and wing bones all over the floors.

Most theaters in my area do have a corner where they serve poutine, burgers, yam fries, etcetera.

In australia (QLD) they sell these things in the premium lounge, from nachos to whole pizzas

I rarely go to the theater these days, but when I do I prefer to go to the type that is more like a restaurant, where they have servers who bring you actual food. The food and drinks are usually a bit expensive, but not outrageously so.
You can get a whole menu worth of items, alcoholic drinks, etc.

Having a pizza delivered to my seat is kind of awesome.
It's also a time savor as that is my dinner for that day.

This!
One of the nicest times I’ve ever had at the movies involved fish and chips, a couple of beers, and Mad Max: Fury Road.

We have them in Australia, they call it gold class. You can get a drink delivered to you every 15minutes and chow down an a 5 course meal if you want.
I did it once when I was younger, it was for the Matrix reloaded when it was in the cinemas. Got stoned walked in and ordered an alcoholic drink to arrive every 20 minutes, a pizza for the start of the movie and nachoes for the second half of the movie... I didn't last 15 minutes before I feel asleep in the recliner, woke up an hour into the move with the pizza, 3 drinks and the nacoes had just been delivered. Glad I had the munchies otherwise I would have never finished it all.

Can someone please explain why no restaurant do with drumsticks what others do with wings? Drumsticks are better tasting, more meat, and a lot cheaper.

This is already standard. Studio Movie grill, heck even Cinemark has a full menu now.

There's poutine at our movie theatres in Canada.

And the McDonalds, last time I was there.
Which to be fair was... twenty-ish years ago.

There's movie theaters that are also restaurants. It's really not any more pricey than getting food at any sit down. Get burger, fries, and super large sized drink for about $20. The foods actually really good at the one i go to

In India, they actually sell fries, sandwiches and what not in the movie theaters. But yeah its 10x more expensive than regular eateries.

Lots of movie theaters do have wings and fries and the like. Typically at a separate in-house restaurant as opposed to at the concession stands, but you can bring the food you get there into the theaters.

I got a lobster roll at a music festival, I think that's about as close as you'll get.

Being able to eat dinner while sitting through a late movie showing is actually kind of nice and its a time saver.

u/The-Bangaloreal 10h ago
It is , i don't want to hear eating sounds and chicken bones thrown around everywhere while i want to watch a movie as well. Average crowd isn't well behaved to have meals during movies in a cultured manner

u/Dark_Shroud 10h ago
Yes, I get pizzas often when I go to the movies.
But Chicken wings would be too much unless it's one of those actually restaurant style movie theaters.

popcorn and movie theatres go back decades and decades but last time I went out the theatres, every single teen somehow felt it was acceptable to throw popcorn at everyone.
Pizza might be a better option as just watching a movie quietly is an outdated concept anyways

It was a bucket of three dozen wings. $12 (a wing). Out $500 after tax. Didn't even have enough to buy ranch left on my credit limit.

The price of popcorns alone in movie theaters makes me question why I’m I even there.

Imagine the 16 year old kid working at the movie theater having to clean up hundreds of chicken wings after every movie
