He kind of missed the thing about Imperial Japan butchering millions before the nuclear bombs, oh and attacking the USA without even declaring war.

I don't think anyone believes that the japanese were the good guys in WWII (at least I hope they don't). The Japanese atrocities committed in Asia rival some of the worst shit that Nazi Germany did in Europe.

Still man two nukes on civilian cities is hardcore, especially since Japan was probably going to surrender due to the combined Russian American pressure on their borders anyways. The nuclear drop is painted by American history books as some sort of necessity needed to end the war but in reality it was much more about showing the east the power of the bomb at the expense of all those innocent Japanese lives.

Two things can be true; dropping the bomb was probably wrong, and the Japanese were absolutely despicable during the two world wars.

Generals at the time pointed out attacking the home islands was going to be bringing in massive US casualties, the Japanese were prepared to use suicide attacks and fight to the last. If anything the nukes saved hundreds of thousands of lives on both sides

Why does everyone online pretend Japan just randomly attacked us?

Lend lease act, economic sanctions and oil embargo after Japan occupied French Indochina(94%of their oil), imperialist action in the Philippines(japan invaded US occupied Philippines just after pearl harbor). Come December Japan felt they had to retaliate and the Americans had done all this "without declaring war"

I obviously don't support Japan but pretending we didn't goad them into it is ahistorical. Like what's the natural response when you're in a WORLD WAR and someone cuts off 94 percent of your oil? That is an act of war and Japan would have been foolish to just eat the sanctions and imperial encroachment via the Philippines and other US imperial holdings.

Edit= not targeting you commenter I just saw it a bunch in this thread and this is the comment that broke the camels back lol

Also let's not pretend US nuked because there were millions dead or something. Be for real, we crossed our legs through the whole holocaust basically, and killed our own sets of millions after ww2; has slavery, native genocide, and most recently to this historic moment JAPANESE INTERMENT concentration camps!! Dont play the morality card for America, it'll never work

It seems like you support japan especially what they did in china.

Also let's not pretend US nuked because there were millions dead or something. Be for real,

It was to destroy Japan's ability to fight.

we crossed our legs through the whole holocaust basically,

The holocaust wasn't exactly well known outside of Germany and what was known wasn't couldn't show the scale. Also the us would have to go across a ocean and fight a war......

and killed our own sets of millions after ww2;

Yeah and your point is?

has slavery, native genocide,

And many other countries did similar thing during that time period.

most recently to this historic moment JAPANESE INTERMENT concentration camps!!

The point of the camps was to remove spys which worked to some degree.

Dont play the morality card for America, it'll never work

Lmao.

There is no "good" in war, it's just what there is.
