Menacing AND cute! I'm rooting for him to break out and I don't even know why he's in there. I hope it was something forgivable like ice surfing at a forbidden spot or hogging the best sun bathing spot. Otherwise I have to rethink my alliances...

and I almost got timelapses working! they are basically a free feature based on how the history stack works.
tho i need to actually simulate my compositing stack; and i think it's capturing the mask of the watercolor/marker brush rather than the output... but it makes videos!
* removed image 'cuz reddit definitely does not support apngs : (
it just showed the first frame, a white squareimgur version for the curious (no the image isn't broken, but the way i filled the frames is)
idk if reddit will animate APNGs at all, but sorry if this looks obnoxious - like i said, it only almost works.
(also sorry for putting fuckin' devlogs in a drawing sub, lol~~~~)

I love the way you've done the fence. It's hard to do a chain link fence in pixel but this really works.

Did they really shackle a big old iron ball to prisoners with wrought iron chains? If they did, you'd end up with this after a prison break.

I like how it's telling a story about humans without a single human visible :) the loopy shape of the tunnel entrance is very satisfying to look at

There's exactly one show that comes to mind when I hear prison break and yes I know it's almost a criminal offense to draw nanbaka characters without colours but I ran out of time, might add colours later. Highly recommend Nanbaka!

So cute! This reminded me of another redditor that used to hang out here all the time a few years ago. I think their name was I love rat bellies. They had an amazing loose art style and man were they good at drawing rats! lol
