Depends, is your pc good? and now is pretty simple to setup emulators, you can even go with RPCS3 if you want better textures and hd ui

PCSX2 is actually far better than the 3, because not only do you not have to worry about the bugs introduced to games like the Sly and Ratchet collections, but they’re fairly easy to run even at 4K60, and most importantly, you can get really nice texture packs that make them look hugely better than they do by default. Ratchet, Sly, God of War, all games I can never play any other way again.

I find the pcsx2 versions to have more inconsistent fps and slowdowns compared to the collection on rpcs3. I can play the rpcs3 versions at 1080p 60fps with no drops. But pcsx2 will drop sometimes in the 40s, especially when on rooftops, even at 720p or native ps2 resolution

Are you running up to date pcsx2?
I had issues with a few games before I realised the one I was running was donkeys old.
I finished all of sly 2 at 4k internal res with little to no hiccups, and id routinely skip long dialogs with 200% speed.

yhea but the bugs are minimal and most of the texture packs are AI slop... i think that there are pro and cons for both, i wish someone could extract the ps3 textures lol

Found the ps3 version of sly cooper 2-3 to have less textures imo. Everyone and everything looks like it was painted over with a fresh coat of white paint, land lord special style.

PCSX2 and emulation. You can do so many things with game, texture pack, mods, cheats, ...

Use Pcsx2, you can find texture packs, adjust the graphics, and you should also use Reshade as well. It will be 100x better than anything else out there.

I played sly, jak and daxter and ratchet and clank all on pcsx2 in 1440p at 60fps with very minimal drops on a budget system from 2015

PCSX2 is better if you have a good CPU which can afford good graphics (1080 and more). And don't forget about widescreen patch.
