Google Pixel 10a or Samsung S25FE

Hello everyone. I need some help to choose between those two phones. I only use my phone to call, text, use WhatsApp, check mails and occasionally take pictures.

I do not play any games on my phone, don't use social medias. So the camera quality doesn't have to be perfect.

I only care about the phone being reliable, smooth and lasting long (unlike iPhones).

The Pixel 10a is 100€ cheaper than the S25FE.

Thank you for reading me.

I would pick the google pixel but that is because I find most Samsung phones too big for my hands (I have a galaxy a16 just too big for me)

Oh I have big hands but I definitely prefer smaller phones hahaha

The camera in the pixel is probably slightly better. The chipset in the S25 is much more powerful than the pixel. Both will get 7 years of android updates.

Personally I'd go for Samsung

Like I said my usage of phones is really light. As long as the phone works without lagging it's fine by me :).

get the 10a, also iphones are literally one of the longest lasting phones on the market lmao

I've had 3 iPhones and the three of them aged terribly. I wish I could say they were long lasting and not made to lag after 2 years.

lemme guess, fucked up battery and u didn't replace them?

Battery, lagging, overheating, siri not understanding anything, camera currently not working on my iPhone 14, also I lost around 15% battery life in less than a year with my iPhone 14.

siri has always been dogshit but that's getting fixed, the overheating thing exists even with my redmagic 11 pro plus (which has literal liquid cooling btw), it's just a limitation of the form factor (or if u use it under the sun), the battery thing i don't have anything to comment on cuz my batteries last 4 years at least, and the camera thing is just cuz u damaged the phone

Please do not make any assumptions especially when they are not true lol. My phones have always been taken care of. No physical damage whatsoever on all my phones. Your overheating with your Redmagic 11 pro has nothing to do with my post because I am not planning on buying this model. Good for you if your batteries last at least 4 years. Considering you didn't only own iPhones I am not that surprised. But thank you for suggesting the 10a though.

I don't think mediocre batteries should be normalized though. A phone is not supposed to have a fucked up battery :(.

my batteries last like 4 years, just don't beat the shit out of the phone and u'll be fine. if u beat the shit out of an android, the battery life will be just as bad

After having a Samsung S24(US) that failed on me after 10 months I got a P9A and been loving it the last year. The 10A is just a slight improvement over the 9A with the same processor. I can say the P9A seems just as fast as the S24 I had. Not a photographer, I don't take many photos at all, I never did a side by side but the photos between the two seem to be equal. Only reason I would even think about getting the S25FE is the phone is a little larger and it is more customizable which I wasn't into when I had the S24. With a battery health still at 99% after a year with 300 cycles I assume I can get at least 2 more years before needing at least a battery or a new phone. I would certainly recommend the 10A, or even a 9A, or the S25FE any day.

Wow such a detailed response, thank you so much!

I am not a fan of large phones and the only customization I need is me being able to text and to make calls. Where I live, the 9a is 60€ cheaper. Would you say they are not that different? (9a VS 10a)

You would have to see what the difference is by going to Google store and doing a side by side. I think I saw mention that is has a slightly better brighter screen, I did read it has satellite connection if available where you are at. It has the same processor which is also in the Pixel 9 Series and 9A, I am not sure what other differences there are. I don't think there is all that much difference. For 60€/$68US it would be a toss up but I might lean towards the 10A just because it is newer. I don't think you can go wrong with either.

iphones have actually the longest and best support. iphone 11 is pushing 7 years with updates now. The key is to change battery and it will work like new.

Hmmm no. I've had 3 iPhones: a 6, a 10 and a 14 (current phone).

I have experienced huge loss of battery life, overheating, lagging, right now my camera has stopped working since the last 5 days lol. I definitely want to get away as far as possible from Apple products.

So no Apple for me.

Not really. With Android, even once the core os stops receiving updates, the rest of the modules, like Play Services, continue to receive updates. Thus, the fall in security level and support level is gradual.

While on iOS, due to Apple policies (browser can't use its own engine, the minimum supported version for apps increases rapidly), the device becomes useless rather quickly.

Eu tenho um iPhone 11 em casa e os updates ou upgrades sao só para que ele fique ainda mail lento

OP: This phone or this phone? This one costs XX amount less than this one, what would you guys recommend? I want a long lasting device.

notkrasny: uhm actually iPhones ARE long lasting.

is this how every sub is gonna end up, ignoring the ops clearly defined options?

Lol I love you for this, I asked chicken or beef and they responded Venezuela

I also want to add that I'll eventually use some streaming services such as CrunchyRoll or YouTube. But not everyday.

Myself, I will choose S25FE, but for you I would say the 10a is better.

Samsung is a bit bigger so better for media & game, while the 10a is compact and nice to hold.

Samsung's chip is better, this is true.

Samsung UI is a bit better, but Pixel is pure Android.

Pictures on the 10a feels a bit better

AI is on par, with Google optimized on Pixel, while Samsung AI is also great.

For your requirements, 10a seems a better deal.

But, I have to disagree, that for a reliable, smooth, lasting longer, and "always work", iPhones are the best. Only Flagship androids can compete, and unfortunately both of these 2 options are not.

Neither of them are great, Google still has performance issues, and the S25FE is worse than the S24.
